McCain: Review Ariz. 'stand your ground' laws

Arizona Sen. John McCain says his home state should review its "stand-your-ground" law in the wake of George Zimmerman's acquittal in the shooting death of Florida teen Trayvon Martin.

The Republican senator said he trusted the jury's judgment in the case, but added Sunday on CNN's "State of the Union" that the law "may be something that needs to be reviewed."

Does he think that applies to Arizona?

"Yes, I do and I’m confident that members of the Arizona legislature will," McCain said.

He said he did not share Sen. Ted Cruz's view that President Obama's remarks on "stand-your-ground" laws represented another administration approach to gun control.

"I respect his view, but I don’t frankly see the connection," McCain said of his Texas Republican colleague.

I’m confident the Arizona legislature respects McCain about as much as I do, and will act accordingly. The law will stay...

McStain should have been left in Hanoi. He’s done more damage to our country than he ever did to the NVA.

Disgusting but liked in AZ, where the low information voters must be 80 percent of the population.

I would never harm another human being. I certainly would never advocate anything other than being active in the voting process for or against those I disagree with.

However I could understand that if some crazed Tea Party Terrorist went out of their mind and attempted to inflict physical harm on a public figure, they would choose McCain before Al Sharpton.

McCain: Let me say that Arizona needs to look into people who believe they have a right to Self-Defense, and while I am at it let me not miss this chance to kiss Obama on the cheeks of his butt.

What Arizona needs to look into is a way to recall this brainwashed old idiot.

I believe a lot of other words would apply too. Sleazy would come to mind. His behavior during his first marriage and the Keating 5 history should prove this.

He’s also a fraud. He only got into the Naval Academy because of his father. He only stayed in and finished because of his father.

As far as him being a military hero. There are lots of others that have paid at least as much of a price. Most just haven’t been able to milk it for all it’s worth like maverick the flying XXXXo.

I know some have never liked McCain, but he didn’t used to be quite so asinine. I wonder if he has become addled in his old old age.

A state would review it’s SYG law as a matter of course if they had complaints about outcomes IN THE STATE from people who USED their law.

Only an idiot would waste taxpayer money reviewing their state law because of some entirely independent event in another state that didn’t even involve the same concept, much less the same implementation.

This would be like saying every state should review all the laws and regulations for road work every time there is an accident in another state.
