They should demand free labor from those on welfare, long term unemployment and faking disability - not the employed who already give up a large chunk of pay.

That battle was lost when schools were allowed to demand “volunteering” as a requirement for graduation.
The odd thing is that gubmint workers (especially furloughed ones) don’t like the idea of volunteers taking their jobs.

Step one, take the congress in 2014.
Step two, advance legislation that would allow a third term. After all, it will be racist to oppose this.
Step three, 0bama “reluctantly” accepts the parties nomination.
Recruiting welfare recipients to work the streets as “volunteers” for the cause of “social justice”.
I like the idea of takers doing something for the good of society (likely not doing any of hte work of gov’t.).
Obama is such a doofus. He thinks all the takers and gibmedats will volunteer to do some kind of activity for free.

Reading between the lines here, expect unemployment to stay high, or get worse. Furthermore, prepare for the bookkeepers to make sure these unpaid “volunteers” get counted in such a way that it helps the Friday unemployment stats.

When I was in the 6th grade, our "Social Studies" teacher fed us all a daily dose of propaganda about how great Democrats were because of FDR's WPA.
Even then, I knew it was garbage, but I thought: "At least they were carrying shovels and doing something."
The welfare leeches, the SSDI takers, the long term unemployed - none of them want to work in jobs like that (heat, cold, manual labor).
Go down and volunteer NOW, folks!! I bet we could get a LOT done! ;-)
