After reporting that she'd been raped to Dubai police, a 25-year-old Norwegian woman who was on a business trip to the United Arab Emirates city found herself being jailed on "suspicion of having sex outside of marriage."
Following the report of her rape to police, the 25-year-old had her passport and personal possessions seized and was immediately placed in a jail cell.
It took three days before she was able to gain access to a phone and contact her family to let them know what had happened to her.

The fundamental purpose of courts is so that a neutral judge administers fair justice, thus preventing blood feuds and revenge.
Sharia courts do not fulfill this fundamental purpose, because they do not recognize non-Muslims, ethnic minorities, and women as fully human; thus they are denied fair justice.
This leaves no recourse but to seek revenge at the level of blood feud.
Were Norway to have a legitimate government, it would dispatch killers to end the life of the rapist in such a way that it would send a message to the Muslims of Dubai that, as they would deny others their rights as humans, so too will their rights as humans be denied. Their faith or their government should offer them no protection to such fair vengeance.

I wonder if she is a felon because of this. If so, would it not prevent her from legally immigrating or even getting a visa to enter the US or other countries? Would she be classified as a sex offender?

An international company for whom I used to work had a policy against sending female employees on business trips to any Arab country. That policy included even transit through Arab airports. Since the company was based in Japan, it was considered just common sense. If it had been based in the U.S., Canada or Western Europe, we probably would have been hauled into court.
Anybody remember the first Gulf War and the transit passengers in Kuwait held hostage for a time by Saddam Insane? That's when my former employer put the policy into place.
