More than two years after her upstart Senate campaign rocked the Delaware political world, Christine ODonnell got an unexpected contact from a U.S. Treasury Department agent warning that her private tax records may have been breached.
The phone message earlier this year shocked the battled-scarred candidate, a tea party favorite who knocked off Republican mainstay Michael Castle in the primary before losing in a bid to win Vice President Joseph R. Bidens former seat.
Ms. ODonnell, this is Dennis Martel, special agent with the U.S. Department of Treasury in Baltimore, Md. We received information that your personal federal tax info may have been compromised and may have been misused by an individual, he said in the January message left on her cellphone.
For Ms.Donnell, the message immediately raised red flags.
On March 9, 2010, the day she revealed her plan to run for the Senate in a press release, a tax lien was placed on a house purported to be hers and publicized. The problem was she no longer owned the house. The IRS eventually blamed the lien on a computer glitch and withdrew it.
Now Martel, a criminal investigator for the Treasury Departments inspector general for tax administration, was telling her that an official in Delaware state government had improperly accessed her records on that very same day.
Beyond that, Ms. ODonnell and Senate investigators who have tried to help her have run into a wall of silence, leaving more questions than answers about whether abuses of the IRS system extend to private individuals and not just the tax-exempt groups already identified as victims.
I dont know. And Id like to know, Ms. ODonnell told The Washington Times in her first interview about the case. Because whether its one, eight or 80 [cases], its an abuse of power...

Government is out of control. The only way the GOP wins again is if we find a candidate who will take this on w/o apology.
Well you are right that Government is out of control. However, the conservatives need to stop putting up freaks as our candidates. She was the Worst candidate ever in history to run. The biggest embarrassment to conservatives. Anyone who does not agree with this is LYING!
Well, she was a witch...
23 posts and still no Jonathan Moseley...
CORRUPTION! Of the highest order!

Aren't y'all happy about living in a Banana Republic? Wake up. See it for what it's worth.
They can’t be trusted with anything...
I mean anything....
Pitchforks and torches are too dated,,,,
Can’t just ask them politely...
Fake outrage, some sort of hearing, and in the end...nothing happens.
She was flaky but this seems like it should be a pretty big story.
I remember Limbaugh saying years ago that the left would work to just outlaw the political opposition.
How prophetic a statement that was.
F the GOP. This has become tyranny, it will end in millions of dead.
It has been said since 2008 by those who understand the Chicago Machine, Marxists and their history - America has seen her last free and “honest” national elections.
We have gone full-Soviet in the shell-game and intimidations the Ruling Class perpetrated on us last year.
If you are pinning hopes on 2014 - you hope in vain.
The ballot box will be of no avail. It’s been fully and completely compromised and corrupted.
We can no longer work within or from without of this behemoth system of tyranny now imposed on us.
The regime will make their last mistake and force compliance and subjugation by raw force if intimidation, harassment and punishment does not achieve the results it wants.
The rule of law is dead. The rule of the iron fist is at hand.
>> If you are pinning hopes on 2014 - you hope in vain.
The only deterrents going into 2014 are the Republicans in Congress.
