“Some parents act as if the responsibility to educate, and even care for their child, is primarily the responsibility of the public school system,” the South Jordan Republican first wrote on a state Senate blog on Friday. …

Osmond said that in the current state of public education, teachers do not receive meaningful support from parents, while at the same time parents become frustrated that schools are not able to meet the individual needs of their children. …

Separation of education and state sounds good. Go back to the way this country was founded.

Might as well. Over half of the country is brain-dead anyway.

Really irresponsible parents who cannot feed dress or shelter their children EVEN WITH GOVERNMENT SUBSUDIES should have parental rights terminated and the children raised in orphanages run by private nonprofit organizations. These children will be civilized and trained for civic duties and to support themselves.

Woot! You have to start somewhere, and broaching the issue is a start.

We took our kids back by homeschooling. But for one of our kids, formal learning was a waste of time.

The purpose of public education is not education.

The purpose of public education is to launder tax dollars through teachers union dues to Democrat candidates.

Period.

When 80% of NYC high school graduates literally cannot read, WHAT DIFFERENCE DOES IT MAKE?

We just did this in Iowa in the last session.

Separate school and state, before it’s too late.

It's far more nefarious than that.

"Teachers don't receive meaningful support from parents"...

My experience is that the teachers waste all the class time with liberal indoctrination and send the three "r"s home for we parents to teach. Then claim the solution, of course, is more money.

cut their welfare, honestly when I see a woman at 5 foot five and over 200 pound in a store and she has a basket of all junk food paid by us pisses me off.

First if those are tat fat and on food stamps should not get food stamps seeing as they don’t need all that food, junk food I might add.

Yea I know it will never happen because the left would lose the black vote and the welfare vote

What’s weird is that I just went to his website and the first thing I see is strong support for public education.

maybe it is different to you there.

We did you do that virtual school as my oldest just did a class on that and it was stupid, he;d sit there for hours and ten enter only for the program to fail and he;d have to do it all over again.
The virtual teacher was a joke who knew nothing, the whole thing was a fiasco and a money maker for someone
