Seas may rise 2.3 metres per degree of global warming-report ('WaterWorld Dead Ahead' Barf Alert!!)

BERLIN, July 15 | Mon Jul 15, 2013 10:22am EDT

(Reuters) - Sea levels could rise by 2.3 metres for each degree Celsius that global temperatures increase and they will remain high for centuries to come, according to a new study by the leading climate research institute, released on Monday.

Anders Levermann said his study for the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research was the first to examine evidence from climate history and combine it with computer simulations of contributing factors to long-term sea-level increases: thermal expansion of oceans, the melting of mountain glaciers and the melting of the Greenland and Antarctic ice sheets.

Scientists say global warming is responsible for the melting ice. A U.N. panel of scientists, the IPCC, says heat-trapping gases from burning fossil fuels are nudging up temperatures. A small number of scientists dismiss human-influenced global warming, arguing natural climate fluctuations are responsible.

“Since measurements began in 1979 antarctic sea ice has continued to expand, contrary to what the news media would have you believe. We bring this information to you month after month and still there is no sign of the main stream media picking up on the story. They continue to discuss the relatively small areas of the Western Antarctic Peninsula that are melting due to changes in ocean currents”

Hmmm. That could flood New York City, Boston, Newark, Philadelphia and Los Angeles.

I’d call that PROGRESS!

* As in ‘Monkeys MAY fly out of my butt.’ *

I MAY have already won $5 million from the Publisher's Clearing House.
Ed McMahon MAY become reanimated and present it to me in person.

The odds are roughly the same that man-made global warming is real.

"Some scientific studies have projected sea level rise of up to 2 metres by 2100, a figure that would swamp large tracts of land from Bangladesh to Florida."

Conveniently, none of the scientists making this prediction will be alive to see it.

Tell you what, guys. Make a prediction for what will happen within 5 years so we can test your hypothesis. Stop with the alarmist garbage.

There are a lot of ancient cities under water. Had they stopped using carbon based energy, they would still be under water. Sea levels haven’t risen significantly for the past century, and they aren’t likely to rise significantly for the next century. That’s my prediction based upon my science, and I bet it proves out better than the fear mongering, warming fanatics’ dire predictions of catastrophic destruction due to anthropogenic global warming.

Of course it IS the internet but the figure I found
for the total sq.Ft. of the world’s oceans is
3,608,687,080,000,000 square feet X 7 is a lot of
water, where is it to come from? I have read that
if all the polar and glacier ice melted it would
raise the sea level 200 ft but some how that just
doesn’t seem possible.

Perhaps we should be building a retaining wall
around NYC. Come to think of it that might not
be a bad idea in any event!!

The reality of man-made global warming is clearly evident by the hoardes of Liberals leaving their coastline mansions for humbler low-carbon-footprint dwellings in the higher grounds of middle America.

Insufficient progress; it also needs to drown Sacramento, along with Gov. Moonbeam and the entire State Legislature.
