"Sadly, all the facts in this tragic case will probably never be known," Bloomberg said in a prepared statement Sunday. "But one fact has long been crystal clear: 'shoot first' laws like those in Florida can inspire dangerous vigilantism and protect those who act recklessly with guns."
He blamed "gun lobby extremists in Washington" for drafting the laws and said the legislation lets armed citizens think it's OK to shoot first and later defend themselves on the grounds that it was a justifiable homicide."
Bloomberg touted his work with other civic leaders on the issue and said they are seeking to eliminate such laws in Florida and elsewhere: "The tragic death of Trayvon Martin, an unarmed child attempting to walk home from the store, will continue to drive our efforts," he said.

He is desperate to make some sort of splash as a lame dud mayor. He’s already ruined the school system, given away precious parkland to developers, dissed the city’s workers over and over again, etc. Now he styles himself the disarmament king. Compare our crime rates Bloomy. I’m in central FL and our violent crime is at a 40 year low and almost the lowest since they started keeping stats. The logical results of an armed society. Our Founding Fathers were brilliant architects.
Are they trying to abolish self defense? or is it that you can’t use a gun? Some people can’t fight, or can’t use a knife, so they need the gun, or they die.
