I’m a total Gleek and am so sad about Cory’s death. He was a great performer and all-around nice guy. RIP, no more chasing your demons.
I just came to the computer after playing Handel and Liszt-Wagner for three hours, so I know something about polyphony. And Glee has nothing to do with it.
I loved HS. I was like the geek/nerd enforcer or the nerd Robin Hood. I was a 3-sport star, Football, wrestling, and rugby. Also used to box. As a 16 year-old I could bench press 325 pounds. Though I loved sports, my best friends were the nerds. I played Dungeons and Dragons all the time. Collected comic books. Loved the drama club kids etc...Nothing gave me more pleasure than protecting kids that got picked on by jocks or upper classmen. I routinely fought kids that were one or two grades older than me if they picked on my friends. Very, very fond memories of dispensing justice...I have 3 sons and will teach them the same.
Seriously?
Should we play into the left's hijacking of words and call them gay? Homosexual, sodomite, fag, queer.....they all work for me.
That's okay. They were never really married anyway.
I never played football and I never hurt a flea. It is just very interesting to see, how many of you jump down the throat and personally attack another person's views for somehow being unfair and a little more rednecky than what you're used to.
So in other words you are not only a complete ass but admit to being an outright liar as well? You think its a fun experiment to lie about yourself and say outrageous things on this fantastic site just to stir up trouble? Then you insult rednecks by implying that rednecks beat up people who are not exactly like them? You are the very definition of a troll.
As for the rest of your post #57: yes, there is and will always be bullies and the bullied and yes, we all either learn to deal with it and with other real life situations just as my old school mate Quentin did with his bullies (he ignored them and went on to have a good and successful life and a nice family despite being undeservedly smeared as a queer) and the jock bullies will either grow up or grow out of it or they will pretty much relegate themselves to a life of failure, not because the of any mandated political correctness but because kids who are not taught basic manners and civility and real priorities in life, as we were all once taught by our parents in this country, but rather are taught and encouraged to believe that success on the football field gives them extraordinary privileges and the right to physically assault others, will grow up to be thugs. Look up Aaron Hernandez and many others for examples of what Im talking about.
As I said, I dont watch, have never watched Glee, I have no interest in ever watching Glee. This is not about Glee or the homosexual agenda or gays or gay actors on gay TV shows or straight actors playing gay on gay TV shows or in mollycoddling kids to not deal with real life; its rather about not glorifying the jocks, some who are big and brutish and feel entitled and lord over the kids who are academically or artistically inclined and that has nothing to do with the perceived gayness of the kids being picked on. There is a very big difference between falling back on some Glee Type softness and how we educate our kids to deal with life and promoting the idea that its OK to punch the lights out of the kids who are different or not jocks.
Mollycoddling kids to the point they feel privileged and entitled to success in life without earning it and getting occasionally knocked down or ever getting their precious feelings hurt is wrong but it happens with the jocks as well. And being strong and firm and manly in either ones personal life or in foreign policy as a national leader is not the nearly same thing as being a bully who seeks out and picks on others because of their perceived weakness. Thats the definition not of a leader but of a tyrant.
At one time in this country academic and artistic achievement and was something to be lauded and applauded. Now days the kids who can throw or catch a football or run fast are given college scholarships and big money professional sports contracts while a good many of them graduating college are barely able to read and write. They are held up as heroes while the really bright kids on engineering and science tracks struggle to pay for their college education. At one time people like the nerds like Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, Orville & Wilbur Wright, Dr. Jonas Salk, Robert Fulton, Thomas Jefferson were seen as great people to be looked up to and emulated, but today its NFL and NBA athletes.
And FWIW, Ronald Regan was not only a football player and played other sports in both HS and college, he was also in the drama club. Charlton Heston was in his HSs drama club. John Wayne played football in HS and also was an excellent student and was in the drama club. Woodrow Wilson was in the famous Virginia Glee Club when he attended UVA, studying law. My point is that you and others seem to be saying that just being in the glee club or the drama club, automatically makes that person gay and deserving of scorn or getting their lights punched out. It doesnt. The actor who just died who is the topic of this tread was not gay FWIW. He was however a drug addict. And being addicted to drugs is a terrible thing, just ask Rush Limbaugh.
You were the one on this thread who said, I played football and we always wanted to punch their lights out, i.e. the Glee Club kids, the kids on the year book. Then you admitted you lied about even being a football player.
Dont lecture me on educating or raising kids when you evidently think its OK to lie about yourself in order to make a point. You are not a very good example of a conservative or of someone who should parent in my book. YMMV.
There is a commonality between addiction behavior & celebrity/celebrity seeking behavior - demand for excessive external means of satisfaction, either of feeling good or feeling good about one’s self and external validation.

I have to think production will be delayed at least a month while they consider new stories. But will the show continue?
This whole thread needs a hurl alert.
If you value "tolerance" and "open mindedness" above the necessary limitations of the conservative life, the Christian life, or the traditional American life, you'd be happier elsewhere.
Lefties are the ones who are so tolerant they are intolerant of anyone who doesn't tolerate absolutely everything, including self-destruction.
Lefties are so open-minded their brains have totally absconded, and as a result they haven't enough brains to notice what's missing in their lives and intellects.
Try the Democrat Underground site for your little experiments in trashing others on an RIP thread.
So sorry about your son-in-law, Graybeard58. Hope you are able to spend time with your daughter and grandchildren. God bless....
No argument here.
The ratings went down after the main characters graduated so I can’t see them getting any better, but who knows. It was picked up for 2 years but can be cancelled if the show bombs. I still watch it out of loyalty but am not a fan anymore - the new kids bore me.
Oh, OK. I know him. I knew who she was—she looks just like my high school girlfriend from 1978. Without shoulderpads and big hair.
Pretty much the reason I never bought a high school yearbook. It’s true, the yearbook committee and their friends have pictures and features throughout. Everybody else gets their postage-stamp picture in the class mugshots and that’s it. The guy who built a robot and got third place and a check for $500 in a national competition didn’t get a single mention. But the marching band that went to a 5-state regional competition and bombed out the first day got 5 pages of pictures and kudos in addition to the approx. 20 pages of other pics and features sprinkled throughout the book. The entire system and the people who run it can go pound sand. But I digress...
You’re getting flamed hard here but I agree with you. It’s not just a jock vs. non-jock thing. In my HS yearbook, there were people with some pretty impressive accomplishments that never got a mention but the glee stuff took up 3/4 of the yearbook. That clique was so blatant and nothing was ever done despite the complaints by students and parents year after year. I don’t know what they had on the principal, they must’ve had pictures of him from a drunk/high weekend in Chicago’s gay/S&M clubs or something.
My high school yearbook was packed full of sports and glee stuff but the guy who built a robot and got 3rd place in a national competition got ZERO/ZIPPO/ZILCH/NADA mention. He was a friend of mine (we’re both aerospace engineers these days), so yeah, I’m pretty down on the glee/yearbook crowd. Not that I have any great love for the football team. You were both a pain in my ass.
Lighten up, Francis.
