"The bipartisan group is working on approval of this measure, which will touch upon all necessary aspects to deliver a healthy, sensible and comprehensive immigration reform," Rep. Xavier Becerra (D-Calif.) said in a Spanish-language interview that will air on Univision's Al Punto. "I'm telling you directly, it includes a pathway to citizenship."

Becerra might be lying or nuts. We’ll see when they start voting.

All they want is the ability to tax the illegals. They really could care less about them.

The Democrat-Republican Party wants this. They will employ whatever theater needed to trick their gullible fellow Congress members and lie to the public about the best deal they could get. How about no deals? How about no bill? How about enforcing existing law?

Where’s the fence?

Deport all illegal aliens and their spawn. First seize all their assets.

Amnesty is the right to remain, it has nothing to do with citizenship.

Citizenship cannot happen without the right to be here.

The size and scope of legal immigration is just as big a problem as the size and scope of illegal immigration.

Therefore "comprehensive immigration reform" would make the problem twice as bad.

Right. He's a documented liar.

You couldn’t be more right, sister Onyx. They can’t help themselves and we can not sit on our hands this round. We either get involved or we lose the Republic and become a socialist, centralized single state monstrosity. It will happen without the intervention of patriots.

First, we must acknowledge that controlling access to the nation is the first step that must be taken before any other issues are even discussed. Absolute control of the border, the coasts, the airports, and the visa system is a prerequisite to even having any other discussion.

Next, we must acknowledge that there are times when allowing additional immigrants makes sense, and there are times when it doesn’t. In the midst of terrible unemployment and economic times is hardly the time to bring in boatloads of serfs from socialist states to take up the available jobs and drive down wages.

Finally, we must admit that the power elite in corporatist coalitions with politicians are NOT FRIENDS OF CONSERVATIVES. We’ve got to stop carrying their water and voting their way. We either take back the GOP or we do as Palin suggests might be necessary and go our own way.

We are the independent, free citizens of America who are determined to conserve both moral and Constitutional values and processes crucial to maintaining our exceptional, God-blessed United States of America.

"They?" Dems want them to vote, to create a leftist one party system.

*shakes head* No pathway without enforcement, fence, and money allocated up front. These things need to be in play for five years before I would start anything else..

Yup. You see them here all the time. Since Romney went down in flames, they are doing their best to ensure that we get another just like him. Rather than some evil ‘purist’ with principles.

And for any who would deny it, a simple search on the word ‘purist’ will return many instances of ‘conservatives still chanting the mantra of ‘reform from within’ and other decades worn crap that ensures the GOP remains in power.

Because logic dictates the GOP has to continue as a viable entity in order to ‘change it’. And that logically means that we stay on the plantation and empower them because someday, REAL SOON NOW!!! they will embrace the people they have spent 20 years crapping allover and miraculously listen to us.

Yup. Real soon now. Perhaps tomorrow!

Democrats are willing to accept tougher border security measures than exist under current law...

...because, one suspects, that they know that they will never, ever (EVER) be enforced; and additionally that the illegal aliens-turned-residents will be voting by 2014, and...

... one also suspects, so will all their friends and relatives abroad, and who might just be currently packing.

Willard was tougher on illegal alien “reform” than are many of the current, and alleged GOPers in either house of congress. At least Willard said fence first, then discuss “reforms”.

Yup. He probably discussed it with the illegals he got caught with in his home employ. So I really believe him on immigration. Really...

We don’t owe them the privilege to stay and work here, i.e., amnesty. Citizenship is just the cherry on top.

No, what the Reps want is an increased guest worker program that is being demanded by their corporate paymasters. The GOP will offer amnesty as a concession to get it.

Not an official committee. It's like the House version of the senate Gang of 8, but Labrador quit, so now it's 7.

It's the House's version of The Gang of Eight, not an actual House committee.

But it's only a Gang of Seven now, since Cong. Raul Labrador (R-ID) has withdrawn from the group.
