Snowden documents could be 'worst nightmare' for U.S. - journalist

Fugitive former U.S. spy contractor Edward Snowden controls dangerous information that could become the United States' "worst nightmare" if revealed, a journalist familiar with the data said in a newspaper interview.

Glenn Greenwald, the Guardian journalist who first published the documents Snowden leaked, said in a newspaper interview published on Saturday that the U.S. government should be careful in its pursuit of the former computer analyst.

"Snowden has enough information to cause harm to the U.S. government in a single minute than any other person has ever had," Greenwald said in an interview in Rio de Janeiro with the Argentinian daily La Nacion.

"The U.S. government should be on its knees every day begging that nothing happen to Snowden, because if something does happen to him, all the information will be revealed and it could be its worst nightmare."

Excellent point! It’ll hurt Obama, not us.

Maybe compromising photos with Reggie? Sadly, I doubt it.

ClearCase_guy ~:" I believe that we haven’t had a real election in this country in decades, and I believe that both parties are in on that little secret.
What would happen if that got out? We like to say “We’re not a democracy, we’re a republic!”
What happens when people realize that we are neither of those things??

Lets take it one step forward :
If almost all elections are now being done via electronics rather than mechanical,
and knowing that mechanical leaves a written record, whereas electonic DOES NOT !,
and since we KNOW that PRIZM reads electonic communications, which CAN BE STORED ,
Perhaps the elections can be ALTERED,
in which case, He who controls 'PRIZM' actually controlls the ELECTION ! ,
WITH NO TRACKS !!

“Is anyone else wondering what “the worst nightmare” referred to here could be?

Zero met secretly with liberal journalists this week. Perhaps these stories are part of the help he sought.

So, this guy Greenwald is saying that he saw the documents? Doesn’t that mean that he also knows all of America’s worst secrets?

So he has the birth certificate, and proof of the domestic ############## program. No big deal.

I’m thinking he has papers proving that Dear Leader is not who he says he is. That would throw the US govt into a chaotic seizure. Wouldn’t that be interesting?

The damage won’t be to the country. It will be the paper trail to the White House and beyond. Not damage proof. Period.

Worst nightmare would be explicit exposure of collusion between the DNC, the Obama administration, and unelected offices like the IRS and Homeland Security to manipulate the 2012 election.

If someone told you they'd have to kill you.

Is anyone else wondering what “the worst nightmare” referred to here could be?

Greenwald is sounding more and more like your basic wannabe drama queen. Serious case of the “look-at-me” syndrome. Pretty soon he’s gonna have to put something in front of his mouth. Snowden hasn’t said anything I didn’t already know and I expect I could give him a class on the public info stuff he’s left out. He’s still reminding me of Lee Harvey Oswald who thot he was a clever insider but wound up being a patsy. And if one wants to measure damage to the country top of the list goes to the Obamacare crowd.

The important question is what *part* of the US government would his information harm?

The US government has long engaged in vast amounts of unconstitutional and hostile behavior to just about everyone, both foreigners and US citizens. If this is the part of the government that is harmed, it is a good thing.

And there is so much of this bad behavior, you have to wonder is there any *legitimate* part of the US government he could possibly hurt?

That vast majority of *legitimate* things the US government does is above board, transparent, and not alarming at all to anyone. This could only be hurt if it was also doing something it shouldn’t be.

So the bottom line is to turn the government’s own logic back on itself: “You shouldn’t mind leaks, if you haven’t done anything wrong.”

"Snowden has enough information to cause harm to the U.S. government in a single minute than any other person has ever had," Greenwald said in an interview in Rio de Janeiro with the Argentinian daily La Nacion.

Not the nation, not the people, but the U.S. government....and what is the U.S. government? Just a collection of politicians and bureaucrats feeding on the sweat of its taxpaying citizens.
