How Will the Church Respond to the SCOTUS Rulings?

". . . But I’m even more concerned for what this means for the church in America. Dr. Russell Moore made a statementthat bears repeating:

In another sense, though, the marginalization of conjugal marriage in American culture has profound implications for our gospel witness. First of all, marriage isn’t incidental to gospel preaching. There’s a reason why persons don’t split apart like amoebas. We were all conceived in the union between a man and a woman. Beyond the natural reality, the gospel tells us there’s a cosmic mystery (Eph. 5:32). God designed the one-flesh union of marriage as an embedded icon of the union between Christ and his church. Marriage and sexuality, among the most powerful pulls in human existence, are designed to train humanity to recognize, in the fullness of time, what it means for Jesus to be one with his church, as a head with a body.

This is the fundamental goal of redefining marriage – to erase any semblance of Christ and His church from our culture. It’s not to attain equality or benefits, those are distractions designed to pull at heart strings and dominate the narrative while the underlying goal is advanced. People living in rebellion to God don’t want the truth staring them in the face; moral absolutes preach a truth that cuts to the heart. So the only thing left for those in rebellion to do is destroy any absolutes.

"I think the pregnant question is how will the church respond? Will it continue to tolerate a culture of divorce, cohabitation, and infidelity in marriage that threatens to destroy the family? Will it continue to skirt the issue of homosexuality in order to not “offend” anyone? Or will the church finally start teaching a complete model of biblical sexuality and marriage that boldly addresses all these issues? It’s not unloving to teach the truth of Scripture. It is however, unloving to teach only a half-truth while ignoring the whole truth."

Gays will soon be taking churches to court to force them to perform gay marriages.

I’m fast transforming into a gospel radical, as anything less dips into some kind of idolatry, whether it be of culture or of country or of society or of history or even of church congregations. The gospel can transform all these things in a wondrous way but it can’t “meet them halfway.” Jesus has to be the King... period.

The Christians who refuse to blink, standing in a gospel of radical salvation by grace through faith in a God whose love goes beyond any imaginable human measure, will prove victorious. Whether or not some get fed to the lions, and some may. All this talk about whether or not Christians are getting inconvenienced needs to be jettisoned. The statement needs to be crystal clear across all serious Christian worship communities that we WON’T obey Caesar when Caesar orders us to sin or be a party to encouraging sin, period. And we aren’t going to lower ourselves into the grievance game in the process, and thus fall for one way Satan cheapens the gospel message.

The [c]hurch may howl all it wants about this or that, but the [C]hurch immortal and invisible will not be left alone by our Master. He WILL bring us into his purposes one way or another, Usually, I have found, that is totally contrary to what we suppose his methods and purposes are.

Sage words. You pen truth, and with eloquence and grace.

The US Army trained us to not speculate on what others may or may not do.To accept responsibility for our own actions. But the question has been posed. Prophecy suggest Christ is coming back for His Bride-And I recall Woe to those that are with child.” (which I take to mean there will be some beguiled by the enemy/wholly seduced/impregnated by the false Christ)?Perhaps an answer for those who can understand. As for myself— recall that once upon a time in these United States before the Judicial House/and the Nation became so divided against itself— in the beginning of this Christian Nation our Law schools and Educators understood that to be valid No human law could violate the laws dictated by God ,Himself—be they the Natural Law —or the Revealed Law. Natural Law dictates that tow males— or two females may know each other but that carnal knowledge produces no progeny. The Revealed Law teaches that Moses in Genesis 1:27; Jesus of Nazareth in the Gospel of Mark chapter 10: —and again in Matthew 19: ;and after that Rabbi from Nazareth was raised by God to be Christ the Apostle Paul( a former Pharisee/ a Jewish convert to the way of Jesus Christ) in his to the Church of God at Corinth—
1 Corinthians chapter 6:How is it that the Revealed Law inspired by God written down by men inspired by God at three distinct times separated by time and circumstance all reflect the same “marriage” model Used even by local Judges and in most Christian Churches. I cannot say how the Church will respond— I can say how the Church Universal and every American Patriot who loves the Law ought respond. Marriage is the legal union by a man and a woman in the Holy Estate of Matrimony. As recognized by the US supreme Court in Murphy v. Ramsey and others ,1885.(when we were closer to our nations foundations— and yet were taught the principles necessary to good government and the happiness of mankind —Religion( Christianity -see Joseph Story ,1833 Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States -on the first Amendment and the Government encouraging Christianity) Morality( Necessarily in a Christian Nation—the Morality of a nation would reflect the national religion/Christianity) and Knowledge -—Article III Fundamental Law the twice passed Northwest Ordinance.July 1787 and Aug.1789 -when Law reflected concepts seen in a Sermon preached in this case on May 10,1787 in Hartford Conn. Elizur Goodrich The Principles of Civil Unions and Happiness Considered and Recommended”Note at that time in America Sodomy was still a Capital Crime/ Crime of Infamy punishable by death-or expulsion—So it is unlikely Pastor Goodrich advocated same sex unions.

For too long, we've acted as though the officers of Christ's church were Justices of the Peace, marrying people who have no accountability to the church, and in many cases were forbidden by Scripture to marry. Just because we don't have two brides or two grooms in front of us, that doesn't mean we've been holding to biblical marriage.

Needs to be repeated.
