EXCLUSIVE: RAND PAUL -- I'M 'THINKING ABOUT' RUNNING FOR PRESIDENT
Big Government ^ | 7/11/2013

Posted on 07/11/2013 4:12:12 PM PDT by markomalley

Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) told Breitbart News in an exclusive interview on Thursday that he is contemplating a run for president in 2016 and that he will likely make an announcement on a decision shortly after the 2014 midterm congressional elections.

“We’ve been thinking about it,” Paul said in a phone interview. “And we will continue to think about it probably until after the 2014 elections. I haven’t made a decision, it’s a big decision you know with regard to family and the extensive travel that’s involved with it. And then also just seeing where the country is going in the next year or two.”

According to a new Public Policy Polling (PPP) survey, Paul leads the pack of potential 2016 GOP candidates in both Iowa and New Hampshire. Paul’s 18 percent in the poll leads New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie’s 16 percent, 15 percent for former Vice Presidential candidate and House Budget Committee chairman Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI), 14 percent for former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, 11 percent for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL), 10 percent for Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), 6 percent for former Pennsylvania Sen. Rick Santorum, 2 percent for Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal and 1 percent for New Mexico Gov. Susana Martinez.

Wow, what a surprise. Not.

Rand was the only one I was sure was running. Even Marco Rubio is kind of hit-&-miss as to whether he’ll run after dumping his head in the RINO toilet.

Rand will run, and although I have a few problems with him, he would likely be a very good candidate.

Also, can anyone else believe Ryan and Krispy are getting these kinds of numbers? Makes me call BS on this poll.

It's PPP, what do you expect?

I’ve got major issues with Rand re: amnesty, but I haven’t heard of any Tancredos planning to run. I’m still not sure about his position on Israel, for example, but he’s certainly better than the GOP mush.

Bush, Bush, Dole, Bush, Bush, McCain, Romney

Christie would fit right in (one of the few places he’d fit into)

I don’t trust Rand on amnesty. Only politician I trust right now is Cruz.

Yeah I have problems with Libertarians in general on immigration, foreign policy and social issues. But I do think a Libertarian type could be an effective strategy to form coalitions and focus on at least economic aspects. So I would not rule out holding my nose and supporting a Libertarian. Certainly Rand Paul as compared to Hillary is a no brainer.

There may not be a USA by then. Premier Obumbo will be king for life in the USSA. Even if that is not the case, the America that I grew up and prospered in no longer exist, and it is not likely to recover, especially after another three years of the Obamination.

Rand needs a makeover on that hair. He ought to shave off that perm, let his normal hair grow back and then just get a normal haircut. Perms are kind of prissy and hard to take seriously, just sayin’.

As well he should—But he will never get the nod from the RINORepublicans who have selected Mitch McConell (sp?) to run as the Loser of 2016 (That or re-run John McCain). He should run on the new Freedom Party—Pick Cruz or Lee as VP.
