Barack Obama insults Britain again,

What’s the going rate for the US ambassadorship to London? Apparently around $2.3 million, judging by President Obama’s latest appointment to the Court of St. James’s, the most prestigious diplomatic posting in the world for a US official. This is the amount personally raised by Matthew Barzun, the chief fundraiser (finance chairman) for Barack Obama’s 2012 re-election campaign, which raked in $730 million in total. Mr Barzun, an internet businessman, was handpicked by the White House to be Obama’s representative in London, despite the fact he has no connection to modern-day Britain and his main qualification for the job appears to be that he has been an effective “bundler” for Barack Obama's two successful presidential election campaigns. His only diplomatic experience has been his recent stint as ambassador to Sweden, hardly a global powerhouse, itself a reward for his role in helping Obama win election in 2008. Ironically, Barzun once interned for John Kerry, when he was Senator for Massachusetts.

I suppose it isn’t any worse than FDR sending them Joe Kennedy, although in that case the Ambassador didn’t matter because Roosevelt and Churchill communicated directly.

They're cousins of a sort. Don't know how distant. And both went to St. Paul's School.

Matthew Barzun's grandfather was the Columbia historian Jacques Barzun who married a Lowell. Matthew's mother was a Winthrop. He married the Jack Daniels' heiress and moved to Kentucky.

I’ve never heard FDR sent Kennedy to London as an insult or joke. Kennedy actually enjoyed success running the SEC for Roosevelt, plus had been a huge supporter and contributor. When word got back to Washington that he was acting like a crazy uncle, they recalled him.

I haven't read much specifically about the politics history of WW2.
So, my question is...

Is there any evidence or suggestion that the threat was carried out?

Kennedy was also a coward, leaving London when the diplomatic corps was staying in town with the Royals and Churchill.

He wore out his welcome both with the Brits and State Department pretty fast.

Despite pledging to clean up Washington, and make government more open and accountable, Barack Obama has been doing exactly the opposite. In April 2009, in his weekly address to the nation, President Obama declared that “it’s time to fundamentally change the way that we do business in Washington. To help build a new foundation for the 21st Century, we need to reform our government so that it is more efficient, more transparent, and more creative.” Barzun’s nomination (he is still subject to Senate confirmation), suggests the president has absolutely no interest in living up to his own rhetoric.

You are commenting on facts not in evidence.
You are assuming that Hussein has the knowledge, experience, judgment and inclination, in addition to simply "interest."
