Egypt’s PM to offer Muslim Brotherhood ministerial posts

Egypt’s newly appointed interim prime minister Hazem el-Beblawi is to offer ministerial posts to members of the Muslim Brotherhood and to the hardline Islamist Nour Party, state media said on Tuesday.

“There is no objection at all to including members of those two parties in the government,” a presidential spokesman said.

The announcement followed el-Beblawi’s appointment as prime minister in a transitional government, as the authorities sought to steer the country to new parliamentary and presidential elections.

Adli Mansour, acting head of state since massive demonstrations ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi out of office last week, also appointed former UN nuclear agency chief Mohamed ElBaradei as deputy president, responsible for foreign affairs, subject to approval from Egypt's political parties. …

You know there’s going to be another election someday. What if the Muslim Brotherhood regains power through the vote -like Hamas? What then?
This situation is a complete disaster.

That’s kind of what I’m thinking, although maybe I’m in the minority here. Throw them a bone with some harmless position—not for the sake of the MB, but for the crowd in the street. It’s like that movie Thank You For Smoking. The goal in a debate isn’t to win over your opponent; the goal is to win the audience. Plus this way, if the Army needs to crack down further, nobody can say that the Army didn’t at least try for reconciliation.

I think it’s about time for an all out world war against radical islam.
I think we would have more allies in this fight than we realize...
Enough is enough....and that also means getting them ALL out of our country and off welfare as well.
It could be a joint operation where as we also remove all of our Mexican guests and their anchor babies as well. we’ll deal with the leftists later.

Sorry to offend...

You think these myopic idiots would know after studying centuries-old history in the intrigue-ridden Middle East what happens when the camel gets its nose in the tent.

My thoughts exactly. They’ll have to do it all again next year.

Isaiah 19 is coming to fruition. It’s neat to watch from my safe vantage point in Kansas.

I hope you're right.

Thanks, my friend. Me too.

I hope it isn't a case of the new leadership simply trying to appease to get their billion dollars from the USA. Appeasement leads to submission and sometimes war or further war.

No doubt that there is some of that involved. The new leaders and the military know that they have to ensure that the liberal elements in the US and Western Europe are somehow caused to see that this is not just a military dictatorship, so they have come up with a way to do so, and they will ensure that the MB people they allow to get involved can do no harm.

I would like to see Egypt go secular. It has so much amazing history that world should continue to experience. Of course, with their current situation, I wouldn't book a holiday to Cairo for $20. Actually, you would have to pay me $5000 at least to go to that country. And then, I would spend about $2000 on black covert body guards (think former SEALS, Delta, SF, Rangers, etc.).

Nor would I go there at this point...just like I will not go to Mexico under any circumstances.

However, I hope that the situation there in Egypt settles down. What they have to do is somehow try and bring at least a few of the 5-6 million diehards to the table, and then ultimately brutally crack down on any that try and wage violence and war against the developing secular government. The former may not occur until the latter is successful.

Just one other little possible factor, if I may be forgiven the Wheels-Within-Wheels moment:

What better way to keep tabs on potential troublemakers than to give ‘em a big job title....along with a great big office where they’ll spend most of their time?

JMHO, that may be how/why Petraeus got that CIA gig from The 0. Set him up just like a duck in a shooting gallery....

As with the Taliban in upper Afgannyland the Morsi’s did say they were gonna knock down all the old non-mooslime stuff even tho it is the basis for their entire economy.

I was waiting for the program to start and hoping they would start with the Great Pyramid. This bunch of inbred geniuses claim they built the pyramids but can’t remember how they done it. My money says they can’t figger out how to tear one down either but watching would be entertaining to the max. Remember these are the same blowhards who couldn’t get a dam built without calling in the Russians to help dig. They are also kin to the geniuses who couldn’t catch the Israelites swimming the Red Sea.

If there was any actual brainpower in command of Egypt they would be building a modern pyramid, explaining the secrets of construction as they go. It should contain large conference rooms so our IRS would have cultural places to hold training sessions. And while they are at it they could study agriculture so’s they can , oh, say, feed themselves?

It’s all about the money...concessions have to be made. That was evident the 2nd day when they said the MB was a “part” of the new government, that day that followed O’s remark that “we” would have to “reconsider” our promise of aid.

That could be the case here in the US, but the Muslim Brotherhood is a different koranimal. They wouldn't be satisfied with such a position. Their purpose is to install Sharia law in the world.
