Obama to outline second-term tech plan for 'smarter' government

8:42am EDT

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Barack Obama will describe on Monday his second-term plan for "smarter government" by using technology and data to deliver services faster and save taxpayers money, the White House said.

Obama will meet privately with his cabinet on Monday morning about the plan and then make public remarks at 11:50 a.m. (1550 GMT).

The White House said the plan would build on progress made so far in opening up government data to entrepreneurs and in modernizing government services.

Yep. “Smarter” = euphemism for more control.

Partial Government control is Socialism.

Total Government control is Communism.

B. Hussein Obama is a Communist for his Obama’care.’

BTW, if you doubt that Obama does not have total control of you, just try not paying for Federally mandated insurance, or the fine.

We don't want it smarter we want it SMALLER. Private business can do anything the Government does cheaper and smarter, with the exception of the military. Even the FAA can be privatized, follow Canada's example.

When you see those IBM ads about “building a smarter planet”, THIS is what they are talking about.

Smarter government would only happen if he resigned (and took Biden with him). That would up the IQ of the government by many points.

I hate those ads. Having worked at IBM at one point in my career - they’re particularly grating. IBM thinks that they’re WAY smarter than they actually are in my opinion.

“save money? so we can cut spending?”

No. Save money so we can hire more government workers.

Technology is neither smart or dumb. It is a force multiplier. Improving tech in govt, will only multiply its stupidity.

If you want smart govt., How about we replace the stupid people with smarter ones ?

So we are to expect somehow lying lawyers (redundant I know) will somehow know enough about technology to improve government?

Where have they been during a time when, the department of energy has not generated a watt of electricity, the department of education has not educated a single student, the border patrol has allowed 10, 20, 30, 40 million (pick your favorite number) criminal trespassers to sneak into this country, the state department has never solved the Israel vs the camel jockey conflict, ...

The fact we even allow lawyers in government and expect solutions to exist, proves we are completely willing to accept excessive mediocrity.

This is the epitome of Liberal thinking and collectiveist ideals.

Smarter for a liberal means that since intelligence is collective you add more morons tot he pile and you have collectively made the mass of people “smarter”....

The Conservative individualist realises that you have to take the group IQ and divide it by the number of people in the organisation to somewhat determine the average IQ of the government stormtrooper that you have to interface with.

Liberals cannot divide because “Math is hard” and “Feelings rule”

So for a conservative the best way to increase the intelligence of the government is to cut the dead dumb wood out of there and keep the smart cookies which increases the end result average intelligence PER person involved. Since the smart people make up a small percentage the more you cut the dumb wood out of government the smarter you make it.

The idiot liberals just add more dumb wood to the pile, not realizing that a pile of crap is still a pile of crap no matter how much more crap you add to it.

Liberal Math

10,000 Employees with a 100 IQ is “smarter” than 1,000 employees with a 130 IQ.

Of course do the math of the IQ per person...
