Since January 2009, when Barack Obama was inaugurated as president, the United States has seen 54 straight months with the unemployment rate at 7.5 percent or higher, which is the longest stretch of unemployment at or above that rate since 1948, when the Bureau of Labor Statistics started calculating the national unemployment rate.

Today, BLS reported that the seasonally adjusted national unemployment rate for June was 7.6 percent, the same it was in May.

In December 2008, the month after Obama was first elected and the month before he was inaugurated, unemployment was 7.3 percent. In January 2009, it climbed to 7.8 percent. In February, the month Obama signed what the Congressional Budget Office would later determine was an $830 billion economic stimulus law, the unemployment rate climbed to 8.3 percent. …

Since January 2009, when Barack Obama was inaugurated as president ...

Since January 2009, when Barack Obama was unconstitutionally inaugurated as president

Corrected.

The reality is that Obama and Bernacke have hollowed out the economy. Obama borrowed and spent on consumption over $6 trillion dollars. Little was spent on capital improvements. His appartchiks have issued thousands of anti capitalist rules and regulations. Bernacke has printed trillions more of greenbacks which Obama has spent. It has done nothing for the economy except to deceptively raise for a while the price of equities. These two men have done more to harm America than any other tandem in history. It will be ten years before the American people realize the harm that has been done.

I wonder what the real unemployment is.
I heard, somewhere, that the unemployed & underemployed is at something like 48%.

The really alarming statistic is how many full-time jobs were lost and how many part-time jobs were gained. That giant sucking sound you hear is the wealth of the US disappearing.

So, have we been sold into slavery? Or perhaps peonage?

Bush had over four years of unemployment under five percent, Obama has over four years of unemployment over seven percent - ‘nuff said....
