While most Americans rank the economy and government spending as the top challenges facing the nation, the Senate last month rushed through a comprehensive immigration bill to give amnesty to 11 million illegal aliens. The effort was more about the perceived needs of the Republican Party than the nation as a whole. The swift Senate action was intended to pressure the House to pass amnesty into law. The House seems to have other ideas.
Last Friday, before Congress left for a week-long recess, House Majority Leader Eric Cantor's office released to GOP House members a 3-page memo detailing issues that would be on the legislative calendar when Congress returned.
The memo discussed issues related to energy, education and government oversight. Immigration was only mentioned at the end, in a section headlined "a few additional items." This is not how a Chamber gears up for work on a complex legislative issue.
“The House may begin consideration of the border security measures that have been passed by the Homeland Security and Judiciary Committees and begin reviewing other immigration proposals,” Mr. Cantor wrote, noting that Republicans will hold an internal conference on the issue on July 10th.
Speaker Boehner has repeatedly said that the House won't consider the Senate bill. It's been working on several pieces of legislation that cover various aspects of our immigration system. This piecemeal approach provides greater deliberation and consideration than the 1,000+ bill approach embraced by the Senate. The public is still learning the details of the bill passed by 68 Senators last month.
The idea that Senate action would force the House's hand was always silly. The House doesn't simply act on the whims of Senators. Having to face voters every 2 years, the House is more sensitive to grass-roots sentiment than the Senate.

Of course, he won’t be in the government of either country, because the rest of us will have walked away from his party, which will soon consist of 10 guys on K street explaining to the other 10 guys on Wall Street why money doesn’t actually equal votes.
Votes come from people, who actually remember when someone tries to screw them.
Someone who knows the law better than I can probably confirm this, but I think it goes to reconciliation if the House passes a companion bill to the Senate. It doesn’t matter if the two bills are radically different. The House bill might not even include a path to citizenship, aka amnesty.
If the bills go to reconciliation, the House and Senate choose representatives from each to hash out the differences. Conservatives will be outnumbered by Democrats and RINOs during these negotiations, so we’ll almost certainly get amnesty or worse back into the combined bill.
At that point the single bill goes back to the House and Senate for final approval. I believe it can then be passed by simply majorities. I’m not sure if the Senate filibuster rules still apply. Either way, if the House votes, it will pass amnesty. The Democrats will vote in lockstep (or nearly so), and a handful of RINOs will put it over the top. Additionally, many traitorous Republicans who would love to vote for the bill won’t need to. They’ll be given political cover throughout the process.
My congresscreature always votes with Boehner, however he votes. But I'll call her again anyway.

The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened), against domestic Violence.
Because they have been promised positions as apparatchiks in the New World Order.
Cantor to me has the same affect as Al Gore. A bit unbalanced.
It’s a bad things because both bills go to a conference committee made of House and Senate members that works out any differences between the versions. The House version would almost certainly be gutted. Then the consolidated bill goes back to the House and Senate for final approval by simple majorities. In the House, that means all Democrats and a handful of Republican traitors pass the bill.

Apparently “reconciliation” is a term used for budget bills only. Other bills go to a conference committee.
If the House passes a companion bill, it will go to a conference committee, the Senate’s version (or worse) will make it out of that committee, and the amnesty can then be passed by a simple voting majority in the House.
Many House Republicans who would like to support the bill but are afraid of the political ramifications won’t need to do so. The bill will be passed by Democrats and a small number of Republicans who are either retiring or will be promised nice perks, like plush jobs, if they’re voted out for passing the bill. The other Republicans will be given political cover to continue to work behind the scenes against their constituencies.

No—if the House comes out with a dynamite border plan, leadership will send it to reconciliation with the Senate plan, the Senate plan will be instituted—and the GOP cowards will have passed the Senate amnesty while claiming all the time that they didn’t.
