RUSH: 'QUITE TELLING' FOX DIDN'T WANT ME TO CRITICIZE IMMIGRATION REFORM
Big Journalism ^ | 7/3/2013 | TONY LEE

Posted on 07/03/2013 5:02:09 PM PDT by markomalley

Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said on Tuesday that it was "quite telling" that Fox News did not want him to talk at length about his opposition to comprehensive immigration reform during his appearance on Fox and Friends.

"Now I told the people at Fox that I wanted to talk about this today three or four times and they wouldn't do it," Limbaugh said on his show after his appearance. "They were not interested in bringing this subject up. I wanted to talk about this in relationship to the current state of the Republican party and they wouldn't do it."

Limbaugh said he "had to bring it up myself to whatever extent I did, and that by the way, is quite telling to me."

Limbaugh did indeed manage to get in some comments about immigration on the show, saying, "Republicans are sitting around twiddling their thumbs worried about immigration and whether the Hispanics like them or not and being skunked on issue after issue after issue."

What does the GOPe know that makes them so willing, even eager, to spit on the conservative base?

They are willing, even eager, mrsmel, because they NEVER, EVER, liked conservatives. They hated Reagan. You saw that in 1980 when the GOP-e forced Poppy Bush on him as the #2 on his ticket - you know, to "balance" it out, cuz Reagan to the GOP-e was a crazy right-wing nut who was going to start WW III.

2010 scared the heck out of the GOP-e, and they're doing their damnedest to crush us.

“...I think immigrants are more of a plus than a minus....”

When they come here legally, and go through the proper procedures, yes. When they come here and are grateful for the compassion and generosity of Americans who are more than willing to give them a chance - not guaranteed welfare - to thrive and become productive Americans, yes.

But wen they cross our border with impunity, flip us the middle finger out of spite, steal identities and Social Security numbers, overwhelm the already-strained welfare system and hospital system, take jobs away from Americans who are desperately trying to make ends meet, refuse to assimilate, refuse to learn our language, refuse to respect our culture, heritage, traditions, our laws and our People, and then DEMAND that we recognize them so they can vote in perpetuity to CONTINUE stealing from us...

Well, then, no, they’re clearly a Minus. Clearly, some would call that an Invasion... some with brains and not a National Suicide compact, anyway.

First of all, the point is these people, as are many, are malleable, hence Reagan's plea for a more ardent realization that freedom is what our country stands for.

Secondly, what's you solution? Do you quiz every potential immigrant to see if they're a Democrat and don't let them in if they are?

The ancestor that I found on the Isle of Wight had a run in with the Presbyterians and they cut off his ear! I think of Presbyterians as kind hearted wimps today. What did he do to them to make them so mad? We will never know. :)

I don’t disagree with some of your points about illegal immigrants. The thing that I get more often than not though is a sense against immigration in general. That’s basically what I’m speaking to here.

I think immigrants are more of a plus than a minus.

You mean like the Vikings were to the inhabitants of the British Isles in the 9th - 11th centuries?

That’s a good point. I do forget that this party hasn’t necessarily been socially conservative, going back far enough. The Moral Majority rose in the 80s, wasn’t it?

Your assessment of Lincoln and the Republicans is correct.

It didn't start with Lincoln; it goes all the way back to Hamilton.

My preference is that a new conservative based party, maybe started with help from Mark Levin and Sarah Palin, come into being.

Well, the conservatives took over the Republican Party once with Reagan, but never did fix the Party machinery down to its base. The country club rules virtually every local central committee. THAT is where battles are won and lost. I think Ken Blackwell has it right.

It was. Falwell started it in ‘79 and it flourished in the 80’s.

If we admit MILLIONS via amnesty, we Americans who do believe thus -- due to the 71%/27% spread -- will be disenfranchised by numbers.

Secondly, what's you solution? Do you quiz every potential immigrant to see if they're a Democrat and don't let them in if they are?

No quizzes needed. My solution is to continue with current immigration policy (which admits a reasonable number of immigrants) and not amnesty many millions of Democrat-leaning illegal aliens.

“...The thing that I get more often than not though is a sense against immigration in general. That’s basically what I’m speaking to here....”

That’s not how you come off, though, Papa.

NOBODY on this board is against folks getting in line and doing things the right way.

It’s like anything else in life: When you have to work your ass off to achieve/obtain/become something, it becomes precious to you.

When you cut in the line, take from others, lie, cheat, steal, and basically disrespect your host, what else can you expect except the reactions you see here?

You can’t compare, say, a Vietnamese immigrant who loaded his family onto a raft, and pushed it across the Mekong into Thailand to escape Communist slaughter, to try and get to America with some of these B*stards crossing our southern border, breaking into ranchers’ homes, committing murders, transporting narcotics and other illegal substances, and then having the gall to stand there and DEMAND that we give them amnesty.

The Vietnamese - or Laotian, or Cambodian, or Polish, or Cuban, or Ukrainian, or Russian - that comes here doesn’t expect to have to “Press 1 for English” and expect to hear his native language as a list of other options.

Nothing is owed to anyone. These people jumping our border are here to become dependents, not Citizens.

The Mexicans or anyone else standing in line to become Citizens are getting as f***ed over by them as we are.

Your taxes are being taken from you - ultimately, at the point of gun muzzle - to finance this and perpetuate it.

That should make your blood boil, friend.

From a practical standpoint, we will have to pay for these people, because that is how we know they will vote.

You can argue how things should be in a fantasy world where everything is like you say it should be. But the fact still is, this bill will import low skilled, low educated foreigners who view us as outsiders. Few who it legitimizes will be able to earn as much as the state provides in welfare to the lay-abouts.

That is why if you look at facts, you will see these people voting for democrats at 70-80%. They are the law-breaking gibsmedats. We would be idiots to welcome them into our in-group after they already threw us the bird by breaking our laws. It is clear respect for American citizens is not in their lexicon.

If your case is that we should legalize these people, you are supporting the socialist state. As it is, we have a Herculean task ahead of us in tearing it down. Give Democrats a net 18 or so million more voters, as this would do, and the whole government will collapse into bankruptcy, and we will end up in a full on Lord of the Flies moment at some point. Not that I care personally - I’ll handle it just fine. But the rabbit people will endure a lot of misery, and our species’ advancement will be slowed immeasurably, and that will be sad.

If you can’t see that 18 million new democrats is bad news for rolling back the Socialist state, all I’ll say is I’m glad no one here will follow your leadership.

My argument from the start is alot of this angst against immunity is a socialist argument.

What makes my blood boil is the Obamacrats stealing my money, carelessly spending it, making things like whether I wear my seat belt or have medical insurance their business while prohibiting states from stopping the abortion infanticide. THAT makes my blood boil.

"...My argument from the start is alot of this angst against immunity is a socialist argument. .."

I've read all your posts on this thread, Papa. There is nothing "socialist" in the argument against amnesty. The socialist argument is FOR amnesty, from both the Obamacrats AND RINOs in the GOP.

Automatically rewarding these people who broke into our country with the express intent of sticking it to us - and allowing them to FURTHER stick it to us by voting themselves from our treasury is suicide.

If they REALLY wanted to be Citizens, they'd do it the right way. They'd voluntarily go back where they came from and get in line, like millions of others have done and are still doing.

It's pretty clear and simple.

And for the record, calling people on this forum "Brown Shirts" is guaranteed to get you the flamenwerfer treatment every time. 99% of the folks out here are decent, law-abiding Patriot Americans who love this country, have bled for it, or have family members who bled and died for it.

My old man killed "brown shirts" for this country, and was wounded twice as a result of it, in Belgium and Germany.

So nix on the insults and Nazi crap - that's what the idiot libtards do. You're a relatively new sign-on (2011) so I'll give the benefit of the doubt and assume you're still getting used to things here. I won't assume "Troll" yet.

"...What makes my blood boil is the Obamacrats stealing my money, carelessly spending it, making things like whether I wear my seat belt or have medical insurance their business while prohibiting states from stopping the abortion infanticide. THAT makes my blood boil...."

And if we automatically legalize 30 million new undocumented socialist democrats, you can virtually GUARANTEE that those trends will continue throughout the remainder of your lifetime.

If they can't prove they've come here legally, they should be deported back to point of origin, and the border closed.

There's nothing good that can come of this for the country, our people, and our continuation.

Don't know what else to say on it.

As you so rightly suggest, to each his own but I would remind you and everyone writing on this subject, that a country - any country, can only absorb so many legal immigrants in a specific period of time (say a 12 month period) but never coherently absorb masses of illegal invaders who come without permission, live with their own set of standards, language and always within the shadows as it is virtually impossible to report a crime, when you are the criminal.

No country's citizens should be forced to absorb masses of people, especially invaders who demand a "share of that nation's wealth, i.e. earnings and savings,"merely because some guy or gal who had the good fortune of getting elected, claim so.

No citizens should tolerate its leaders who force them to care for the illegal invaders. Those same invaders should never, ever be given citizenship and the vote!

The leaders who insist on doing just that need to be forced from power, no matter what it takes.

OK, what do you propose to do with the the many millions of illegals?

There are a few simple things:

1. First, let it be known it is a crime to be here illegally, one punishable by prison or deportation. Enforce existing law.
2. Cut off all social services and welfare to those here illegally.
3. Enforce large sanctions and penalties against those who hire people without proof of citizenship or legal work Visa. Make certain the punishment for overstaying your Visa to be here is a strong one.
4. Fashion any new laws concerning illegal immigrants with an eye of getting them to self-deport.
5. Stop chain immigration through family ties.
6. Change the law concerning anchor babies.

If these kind of priorities were put in place, the problem would be quite small.
