RUSH: 'QUITE TELLING' FOX DIDN'T WANT ME TO CRITICIZE IMMIGRATION REFORM
Big Journalism ^ | 7/3/2013 | TONY LEE

Posted on 07/03/2013 5:02:09 PM PDT by markomalley

Conservative talk radio host Rush Limbaugh said on Tuesday that it was "quite telling" that Fox News did not want him to talk at length about his opposition to comprehensive immigration reform during his appearance on Fox and Friends.

"Now I told the people at Fox that I wanted to talk about this today three or four times and they wouldn't do it," Limbaugh said on his show after his appearance. "They were not interested in bringing this subject up. I wanted to talk about this in relationship to the current state of the Republican party and they wouldn't do it."

Limbaugh said he "had to bring it up myself to whatever extent I did, and that by the way, is quite telling to me."

Limbaugh did indeed manage to get in some comments about immigration on the show, saying, "Republicans are sitting around twiddling their thumbs worried about immigration and whether the Hispanics like them or not and being skunked on issue after issue after issue."

In the course of my genealogy research I’ve found lots of legal recordings of ancestors immigrating to America including where they were headed once here, how long they intended to stay and what they intended to do. In fact Catholic immigration into the colonies and early nation was pretty restricted till about 1800.

Wow, you don’t think much of the power and influence of liberty. Given the choice, as Reagan used to talk about, people will choose freedom over slavery to government.

Would that this was so. However: Latinos voted for President Barack Obama over Republican Mitt Romney by 71% to 27%, according to an analysis of exit polls by the Pew Hispanic Center, a Project of the Pew Research Center.

Unless, of course, you view a vote for Obama as a vote for freedom? LOL

I’m all for legitimate security, that’s a valid argument. But much of what I hear is something else. Guess what? A lot of these illegal immigrants are HELPING to keep prices down by doing the work nobody else will do in the crop fields for wages below the STUPID minimum wage which is a price and job killer.

The effort should instead be on taking down this socialist government monster to it constitutional size and limits.

It is. However, this end is not facilitated by the introduction of game-changing millions of Democrat voters.

If I favored massive entitlements, would I favor immigration? Of course not!

Matthew 7:16: By their fruit you will know them.

You are arguing for the introduction of many millions of new Democrats, who always favor socialism.

By your fruit, I shall know you.

We’ve got to do a better job of getting across that America is freedom–freedom of speech, freedom of religion, freedom of enterprise. And freedom is special and rare.
- Ronald Reagan

We as a country must believe in what this country has always stood for. We've got to do what Reagan said. Then these same groups who also voted for Reagan will once again vote for liberty over slavery.

Thank you. We already have multiple generations of people who have chosen entitlements over freedom. Not everyone thinks long term, or cares about the long term.

Facts don't seem to sway you, do they? Latinos vote for Democrats. 71% to 27%. See my citation for proof.

And once Democrats get power, they game the system in such a way that actual voting no longer matters.

I am beginning to suspect you are an Alinsky-style plant, trying to make us 'live up to an untenable ideal', in order to make us commit political suicide.

Warning: Those that I uncover who are these sorts, do not last here long.

The dream is not untenable, as long as we don’t import millions of big-government-loving immigrants.

Fox News definitely has talking points on immigration that their employees have to follow. Just compare Hannity on Fox to Hannity on radio.

My ancestors came from England and I have some scribbled notes about a land grant from England and another about the Isle of Wight. Then they left N.C. went to Tennessee, Missouri and then Texas, where they stayed. They were subsistence farmers and people like that don't leave many tracks (in the record books). My brother and I have decided to hire a professional genealogist to do it for us (after trying to do it for ourselves for a while) LOL!

You ignore the facts about these same groups voting for Reagan. The main issue is getting our country back on track and dismantling the socialist state. You and others like you think you have to bar (all/certain/those you suspect are democrats) immigrants to do this. I don't.

I don't know who the hell Alinsky is but you're starting to sound like a brown shirt with your suspicions and threats. No, I don't mindlessly go the party line like some. I actually think for myself. Look at my previous posts. They'll tell you who I am.

I read about some study recently (didn’t look at the actual study) which concluded that there’s good reason to believe and a high likelihood that the second and third generations of Hispanic immigrants will be even more dependent upon government than their parenst, for various reasons. One being that they won’t acquire whatever manual labor skill their parents had, while at the same time not completing high school and furthering their education in order to get even better jobs. They would be dependent and apathetic.

Right after the 2012 election Sean Hannity on FNC announced he had “evolved” on the issue and now supported comprehensive immigration reform. Haven’t watched or listened to him since.

getting "evolved" on an issue: GOP-e / RINO weasel words for receiving Soros bucks. What was YOUR price, Sean?

You ignore the facts about these same groups voting for Reagan.

DUDE! That was then; THIS IS NOW. The CURRENT trends are 71% Democrat to 27% Republican.

No, we will NOT commit political suicide for some pipe dream.

If your experience and testing shows that when you drop an egg from your hand, it falls to the ground, one does not drop that same egg and expect it to float because of a foolish adherence to a political principle.

The main issue is getting our country back on track and dismantling the socialist state.

....which would be utterly impossible to achieve with the addition of millions of people who vote 71% Democrat to 27% Republican.

You and others like you think you have to bar (all/certain/those you suspect are democrats) immigrants to do this. I don't.

Repeated for the THIRD TIME because you seem to be utterly fact-proof: Latinos voted for President Barack Obama over Republican Mitt Romney by 71% to 27%, according to an analysis of exit polls by the Pew Hispanic Center, a Project of the Pew Research Center.

I don't know who the hell Alinsky is

Educate yourself.

but you're starting to sound like a brown shirt with your suspicions and threats.

Spoken like a true liberal.

If you are arguing for a liberal and socialist end -- which you are -- you are no Conservative.

This forum is reserved for Conservatives.

I found quite a few indentured servants and one who was captured by indians 3 different times till he said screw it and married one. The town is gone today but he founded an english style village with his tribe in Vermont.
