The lead investigator for George Zimmerman’s case testified on Tuesday that he believes Zimmerman may have exaggerated the manner in which he was injured during the confrontation that resulted in Trayvon Martin’s death last year.
Zimmerman, charged with second-degree murder in the death of the 17-year-old unarmed teenager, has pleaded not guilty, claiming Martin attacked him on Feb. 26, 2012, in the gated Sanford, Fla., community where the two encountered each other. Martin died of a single gunshot wound; Zimmerman was photographed by police that night with a bloody, swollen nose and wounds to the back of the head.
Zimmerman alleges Martin straddled him after punching him in the nose and banged his head repeatedly against the sidewalk, warning him before Zimmerman fired a shot at him, “You’re going to die tonight.”
On Tuesday, Chris Serino, the lead investigator in Zimmerman’s case, took the stand for a second day and testified that based on Zimmerman’s statements following the teen’s death, he felt Zimmerman may have been exaggerating the manner in which he was injured.
“You felt he was exaggerating certain parts of it?” prosecutor Bernie De La Rionda asked Serino.
“Among other things,” Serino said.
“Did you feel he exaggerated the manner in which he was hit?” De La Rionda asked.
“Yes, sir,” Serino responded.
When questioned later during cross-examination, Serino added he believed Zimmerman could have exaggerated the number of times he was punched or hit.
The back-and-forth on the stand followed testimony Monday during which Serino told the court he believed Zimmerman was relieved after being told by investigators last year – falsely – that video may exist of the shooting. Serino had testified on Monday that he tried to bluff Zimmerman about the existence of a video to provoke a reaction and gauge Zimmerman’s assertion

Ignore the photos. Ignore the witness who recounts MMA-style punching, which already means multiple blows.
Try not to imagine yourself in Zimmerman’s position, having your face pounded in and your head cracked.
The prosecution is shameful.
I hope this prosecution is not symptomatic of the people of FL, but I wonder.
It was still assault-and-battery.

And Z was relieved thinking there was a video to vindicate
his story.
Why is this farce continuing?
Why you need a lawyer with you when you speak to the police.
Not FL Freepers, that’s for sure.
We do not count the Snowbirds among our own.
I hope people do realize that that GZ injuries really have nothing to do with this case.
If GZ was injured enough to believe TM was going to kill him, then that is what matters.
What difference does it make?
What matters is whether GZ thought his life was in danger.
In the position he was in, St. Skittles could have whipped out a knife and dispatched GZ in less than a second.
Z had no idea what his attacker was packing.
Zman’s head had more tennis ball sized lumps than could be counted. His lumps had lumps. That’s why the SPD took all those photo’s from so many angles. They couldn’t count them all either.
When the back of your head is on the ground it’s rougher on your face when you get hit because there is no give.
When you have your head picked up off the ground a couple of inches it’s not as rough on the face because there is some give but the back of your head gets it.
When your head is up and your hit it only takes one punch to put you out of it.
If exaggeration is a crime, better include the Obama administration and approximately 535 members of congress to the indictment.
Zimmermans nose wasn’t broken as much as it appeared in the photo. Yeh, the prosecutor is a moron.
Let me guess media..Zimmerman pounded his own head into the concrete for WOW factor..the media just can’t bring themselves to admit their angel Trayvon was a thug who lived like one and died like one
In a split second more Zimmerman could of had his head cracked open.
I’m not sure how may folks have suffered impacts on the head, but they are very jolting. It may be true that the impact wasn’t as bad as Zimmerman thought, but who would know for sure.
It feels like you’re really being damaged. You haven’t had this type of experience on a regular basis. You have nothing you can compare it to.
It feels like you’re in serious danger. In fact you may be, if only the guy uses a bit more force. Adrenalin is pumping, everyone’s excited, why not take a chance Mr. Zimmerman, it’s only your life cracker?
Is there a rational mind out there these days? Sure doesn’t seem like it.

Ah, so speculation IS allowed if it helps the prosecution! Glad to clear that up.
