New York is about to see millions of dollars in economic activity leave their state due to the tyrannical gun laws, known as the NY SAFE Act, that were signed into law earlier this year. Kahr Arms has decided to pick up and leave Rockland County, New York and head across the border to Pennsylvania.
Kahr Arms specifically cites the unconstitutional SAFE Act as the reasons they are leaving.
The Times Union reports:
Business has been good for Rockland County-based Kahr Arms, so much so that it plans to expand with a new factory on more than 600 acres.
The trouble, at least for New York State: The gun manufacturer, currently based in Rockland County, is expanding across the border in Pennsylvania, and in the process will be moving its headquarters out of the Empire State. The reason, according to a corporate official, can be found in the swift passage last January of Gov. Andrew Cuomos SAFE gun control law.
It wasnt so much that the measure bans certain kinds of guns and magazines, the company said. Instead, it was the suddenness with which the law was passed less than 24 hours after being released to the public leaving Kahrs executives to wonder what kind of unforeseen regulations or restrictions might lie ahead.
One of our big concerns was, OK, the SAFE Act was passed in the middle of the night. You wake up the next morning and boom, that was it, said Frank Harris, Kahrs vice president of sales and marketing. We just felt like, gee, if they can do this, what can they do next?

Pretty much anything they want.
Good for them. A exsidous of firearms companies from CT is in the planning stages.
Good. NY, CT, MA are good for nothing.
They are making their beds. Responsible citizens will still arm themselves.
Moving production facilities is not something to be undertaken lightly and I applaud companies like Kahr, Magpul, PTR, etc. that stand up for the constitutional rights of their customers. It’s up to us to encourage companies still building in totalitarian states to move to free ones.
“It wasnt so much that the measure bans certain kinds of guns and magazines, the company said.”
What a stupid thing to say. Nice way to alienate your customers.
My wife was very proud of Kahr when she heard about this. Her concealed carry pistol is a Kahr, and she considers it “her” company.
From what I understand they are only closing their HQ not their manufacture plants.
“The Kahr Group of manufacturing plants, operating at full capacity, will continue production in their current locations in Worcester, MA and Pillager, MN.”
From the linked OP article: Business has been good for Rockland County-based Kahr Arms, so much so that it plans to expand with a new factory on more than 600 acres.
Soon there will be only one thing
New York City will be good foor.
Come on down to Tennessee, The home of Barrett Manufacturing. We’d love to have Colt, Ithaca, Kahr and any other arms manufacturer trapped in the left wing mecca of the northeastern USA.
We need these guys down here for the SHTF days to come.
now you’ve done it. YOU POSTED A PIC OF A .45. Darn , here I sit mindin’ my own business , pluggin’ away on FR and now I have to go to multiple gunsights, AND EAT UP ALL MY REMAINING “FREE TIME” LOOKING AT ALL THE FIREARMS I WISH I COULD AFFORD.
thanks alot jerk. (sarc off)
Sorry. Couldn’t help myself.
Call Kahr and let them know how you feel about their decision.
Or, email them:
Yes! Great guns.
