Let’s hope they are onto something BIG!
Good post, u can’t PATENT straight-up curcumin, so they ligate it to this fancy stuff, so they can make big bucks.
Be aware that absorption of curcumin is very low —good to eat something really fatty in order to boost (typically low) absorption —cocunut oil, curry, whatevah.
Also add piperine or bioperine.
Cheap as hell, and effective.
Wow. This sounds like they may be on to something here.
Ok, this is cool.
They could have done this years ago, but the Thalidomide angle made them too yellow.

I use an extract from Natural News (a little more costly, but I think the stuff is great): http://store.naturalnews.com/Natural-Attitude-Turmeric-liquid-extract-2-fl-oz_p_125.html. (It helps with memory/thinking.)
Also add piperine or bioperine.
Be careful with those if you are taking medications at the same time. Can result in unintended hyper-absorption of prescription drugs as well.
Another one is Boswellia Serrata —Frankensence to Bible-reading folks.
I chew it with bubble-gum.
Cheap as heck, and its the medicine we’ll have in 8 years, or so.
I usually use herbco.com —it’s wholesale.
Well what do you know...Thalidomide causes defects in cancer cells and drives curcumin into them and they die...
I wonder if liposomal curcumin could be effective w/o the Thalidomide...
Liposomal vitamin C is easy to make at home and easily administered orally...it is as much as ten times more effective than IV-C against cancer.
Another one is Boswellia Serrata Frankensence to Bible-reading folks.Yep! The stuff is awesome. Thanks for the link. We have purchased the essential oil from Young Living or Rocky Mountain Oils (little cheaper from RM, but not sure if the same quality). The stuff from YL has stopped fits of rage in seconds flat. Never seen anything like it!
The vitamin docs all say tumeric is often an effective anti-cancer substance.
And also an alzheimer's preventative. I find it's a brain stimulant, take it daily in organic form...from Organic India, a pricey but very reputable brand.
Turmeric can kill cancer cells without needing thalidomide. It is a natural anti-cancer compound, among other things beneficial.
Of course, if you want to prescribe a DRUG and CHARGE LOTS OF MONEY FOR IT, pair it up with thalidomide.
I actually don’t see why they banned thalidomide.
There are two forms of thalidomide, a left handed chiral and a right handed chiral. One is safe, the other is the one that causes birth defects. Why they simply didn’t allow the one form that didn’t cause birth defects to remain the one to prescribe is kind of an over-reaction.
“...tumeric is often an effective anti-cancer substance...”
Yes, agreed. But why do you live in Cook County?
That wuz my 1st thought.
I remember the thalidomide babies of the 1960s. Abortion got a big push when some woman from the US was pregnant, used thalidomide, then was afraid the child would be deformed.
I remember the magazines then showing this extremely stressed out woman, while mentioning that abortions were not legal in the US.
She later went to Sweden and got her abortion.
FReepmail me if you want on or off my health and science ping list.
Thanks for the link.
Thanks, good advice.
one of my myeloma patients was put on thalidomide, and that was a couple of years ago, so that’s not exactly new.
It is also used for leprosy patients.
Because of the danger to a fetus, they have to be very careful about using the medicine.
I always wondered about turmeric. Everyone in my Grandparent’s generation (in my family) lived well into their 90’s. All of them were raised on farms; all of them canned and pickled everything.
I spent quite a bit of time thinking about what they “ate” that might have been significantly different than our usual daily diet. Aside from the obvious fact that the food was not generally highly processed...I came up with “pickled things” most of which contained Turmeric; and cottage cheese...both of which were served at nearly every meal.
I take my tumeric as well as capsicum with two tablespoons of coconut oil. I'm keto adapted, so the coconut oil is like pouring gasoline into a fire and I can feel the cardio nutrition from the capsicum within seconds.
This needs a "the rest of the story" addendum. "Was" the aborted fetus (aka "baby") actually deformed??
***This needs a “the rest of the story” addendum. “Was” the aborted fetus (aka “baby”) actually deformed?? ***
According to the Swedish doctor, yes, it was deformed.
I take one capsule of Turmeric daily (about 550 mg) for cancer prevention, primarily skin cancer. I have read that it can help.
Should I take more than that?
This is a “standardized” vitamin, is that okay?
I have been adding turmeric capsules to my diet for about a year
I STRONGLY RECOMMEND IT!!!!!
you know you are taking enough if you start to crave PEPPER on everything (instead of salt)
ok what is that? it looks delicious
you have to eat ordinary table PEPPER to boost turmeric absorption
how do you take the coconut oil? I assume not by the spoonful (yuck!)
Are those herbs in supplement form?
Sorry, I’m bombarding you with questions. It’s just that theres been a lot of cancer in my family and I’m trying to “save” the rest of us!
That’s awesome, thanks for sharing!!!
Tilapia in turmeric
Depending on the brand (I buy mine from my naturopath - it doesn’t smell or taste like coconut), I can either drink it straight or I put it in my coffee.
I just wanted to throw out some other supplements that have anti-cancer properties to them: Vitamin D, Selenium, ALA, Iodine & Magnesium. In addition to these, Green Tea Extract and Resveratrol Grape Seed & Red Wine Extracts.
Driving now but at noon PST I will b behind a computer and will give thoroughanswer and more, no prob.
I do take it by the spoonful, sometimes I mix it with scrambled eggs.
Thank you for this information! I too take cayenne pepper [extract], but since I battle Graves Disease (hyperthyroid), I avoid coconut oil, but I’m going to find out if I need to avoid it completely.
OK the short answer is that I think u should take TWO, not one, and here is the more important thing:
Take those along with your fattiest meal of the day --for most folks that's dinner. Lessay you eat a bunch of lasagna? Yeah, take it with that.
Or lessay you eat a huge omlette with plenty of butter --take it then.
Whatever you eat that is super fatty --and I know you eat fats-- you take your curcumin (tumeric, but the active component) THEN.
While it's super cheap and super therapeutic it's bioavailability is pretty low --just cuz it gets past your lips does not at all mean that it is getting uptaken.
Also it does not circulate for a long time --all the expensive efforts to ligate curcumin to other bigger things have the objective of making it patentable ($$$) and maybe also get it to circulate for a longer time b4 being eliminated.
I really think the best --for years-- will be to consistently take pure curcumin with something fatty and peppery.
And you should try the frankensense/gum thing I described --it's cheap, simple, reliable, and highly thereapeutic.
I'm not super Biblical, but here is a quick aside;
1. gold - resists inflation
2. Myrrh - anti parasitic, anti-helmenthic
3. Frankensence - powerful anti-inflammatory (and many others)
can you cook with it?
I have a jar, I haven’t used it for anything yet
I cannot imagine trying to swallow a spoonful of it- it looks like hardened lard - do you use something different?
