LA PAZ, Bolivia — The plane carrying Bolivian President Evo Morales home from Russia was rerouted to Austria on Tuesday after France and Portugal refused to let it cross their airspace because of suspicions that NSA leaker Edward Snowden was on board, the country’s foreign minister said.

Foreign Minister David Choquehuanca denied that Snowden was on the plane, which landed in Vienna, and said France and Portugal would have to explain why they canceled authorization for the plane.

“We don’t know who invented this lie. We want to denounce to the international community this injustice with the plane of President Evo Morales,” Choquehuanca said from Vienna, where the plane landed.

Morales met with Russian President Vladimir Putin during a summit of major gas exporters in the Kremlin.

Morales said in an interview with Russia Today television that Bolivia would be willing to consider granting asylum to Snowden.

I guess France and Portugal got a memo from the Dictator in Sodom on the Potomac about this guy. Let him fly over and the free money is cut off.

If that plane carried the president of another country, they cannot come aboard. It is their territory and you cannot come in.

I detect the hand of National Security Advisor, Susan Rice. Mr. Obama is too busy giving speeches in Africa.

I think Putin is playing with Obama and I also think he is using Snowden as part of his cat and mouse with Obama....Snowden could be in a Russian submarine right now on his way to “freedom”; I find it hard to believe a little thing like a lack of a legitimate passport for Snowden is a problem for someone like Putin.

Snowden is doing a good job of separating the Conservatives from the “Snowden is a traitor” Hussein Heads at FR for us lately.>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Its obvious that the Obama fascisti are shaken by Snowden’s
potential for destroying them. What a flap they are making over an alleged kid spy that ordinarily would not raise even an eye brow, hell the Muslim Brotherhood gets more information from Obama than even Snowden had.

It is clear that the Obama administration has been abrogating the US constitution and the proof is at hand.

I hope Snowden discloses all he can, particularly about Benghazi.

The math is pretty simple: if I harbor a citizen of another country who committed espionage against that country, then I have little chance that I will be able to ask other countries for help when I need to track down one of my own fugitives.

What??

It's was the U.S. government doing the espionage on that country which is harboring the person who ratted out the country committing espionage, which was the U.S. government.

Too funny..

This isn't about Snowden..It's about the U.S. government spying on everyone, including law abiding U.S. citizens...

wow...

You dance duck and spin real good!

“You would think France would be grateful to Snowdon because he exposed that the US is spying on them.”

They’re grateful but this is just a diplomacy act for the US.

You don't understand basic international relations.

That isn't my fault.

International relations?

Sounds so formal...

You mean how they spy on, rob and kill each other right?

Really! Didn’t know that. So do we know if the plane was searched or not?

USA Today this morning confirms that the plane was, indeed, searched.

Whoa! That’s impressive! I thought for sure they wouldn’t search a Head of State’s airplane. Can you imagine someone going through AF1?

I am surprised.

There’s also chatter on other websites that USAF F-16 fighters were involved in forcing the plane to land. This explains Bolivia’s complaints of ‘air piracy’ in the matter.

That’s what I thought I’d heard, too.

But there are bound to be secret compartments.

There was no immediate U.S. or European response.

Bolivia said Spain agreed to allow the plane to refuel in the Canary Islands on its way back home Wednesday — but only if Bolivian authorities agreed to allow it to be inspected.

What amateur decided Snowden was on the plane? And even if he was, it seems pretty harsh to interfere with another country’s official flight involving its diplomats. The moment Obama said he wouldn’t scramble military jets to capture a 29-year-old hacker I guess I should have known the Prez was lying, and in fact would do just about anything no matter how outrageous in order to apprehend him.

So now we are diverting heads of state. Can’t wait to see when it is tried on AF1.

Impossible. The entire topic is ridiculous. An idea of forcing down a foreing presidential jet is simply outrageous. I don’t think something like that ever happened since 9th century. Not even Napoleon or Hitler could ever imagine to screw international law this way.
Some things are simply no-no.

Do you think the Secret Service would let say the Red Chinese or the Soviets come aboard AF One and search around??? Not in a million years. But, of course under Obama, he’d just give the plane to them.
