CHANNEL 4 yesterday said it will screen a Muslim call to prayer every day during Ramadan because it is more relevant than the Diamond Jubilee.

He added: Nearly five per cent of the country will actively engage in Ramadan.
Can we say the same of other national events that received blanket coverage on TV such as the Queens coronation anniversary?

Qadhi is an imam in Memphis. He is also Dean of Academic Affairs at the Al-Maghrib Institute. He is a hafiz that is, he has memorized the entire Quran. Isn’t Channel4 Government owned?
No. Only the BBC.
CH4 since its inception in 1982, has always done ‘alternative’ programming as an alternative to the BBC and ITV monoliths: an alternative Queen’s Christmas Message usually by a charity or political activist or comedian, ethnic programming, gay programming, disabled programming, niche sports.
This Ramadan programming (the first they have ever done btw) needs to be seen in that context, rather than the Brits caving to the Muzzies. If you know CH4’s history, this is just another bit of ethnic programming.
Okay ,Thank you for the reassurance.
It will be broadcast at 3am.
3am. Nobody, even Muslims, will be watching. More pointless than provocative.
