POLL: RUBIO SUPPORT AMONG LATINOS SAME AS ROMNEY
Breitbart ^ | July 1, 2013 | By Mike Flynn

Posted on 07/01/2013 3:29:26 PM PDT by Jim Robinson

A new poll from Latino Decisions finds Democrat Hillary Clinton easily besting Sen. Marco Rubio in a potential presidential match-up among Hispanic voters. Clinton draws 66% of Hispanic voters, while Rubio garners just 28%. Against Vice President Joe Biden, Rubio trails 60-28%. If Rubio's level of support looks familiar, it's probably because Mitt Romney got 27% of the Hispanic vote last November.

Many GOP leaders have convinced themselves that supporting comprehensive immigration reform, with a path to citizenship, is critical in broadening the party's appeal to Hispanics. Sen. Rubio has been a tireless advocate for this position for months and was instrumental in securing passage of the Senate amnesty bill. Yet, in this poll of 1,200 Hispanic presidential election voters, he garners the same level of support as the recent GOP nominee Mitt Romney.

Other high-profile GOP supporters of amnesty fare even worse. Rep. Paul Ryan only draws 25% support against Hillary Clinton. Former FL Governor Jeb Bush earns the support of just 20% of Hispanic voters.

Among Hispanic voters, 31% hold a favorable view of Sen. Rubio, just edging the 29% with an unfavorable view. Rep. Paul Ryan and Jeb Bush are upside down on favorability by 11 and 12 points respectively. Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who was an outspoken critic of the Senate amnesty bill, actually has a better net-favorable rating than all three. 25% of Hispanic voters view him favorably, against 20% with an unfavorable view.

Sonya Sotomayor = Wise Latina; Marco Rubio = Foolish Latino

Why did Marco Rubio seem to have such a bright future except that he was HISPANIC and people assumed that the vast majority of Hispanics would vote for him if he ran for president?

But here he is being trounced by Hillary Clinton among Hispanic voters in a hypothetic presidential poll.

The problem was that those telling Marco Rubio to start picking out drapes for the Oval Office failed to take into account that he is an Hispanic REPUBLICAN.

As Clarence Thomas found out, just because someone is African-American doesn’t mean his fellow African-Americans will rush to support him. In fact, if he’s a REPUBLICAN, they will rush to lead the mob to electronically lynch him. Imagine what Clarence Thomas’s numbers would be among blacks in a hypothetical presidential match-up with Hillary Clinton.

When will Republicans start basing their support for future presidential candidates on their CHARACTERS rather than on their purported ability to attract various types of minority voters who have repeatedly demonstrated that they HATE Republicans regardless of their color, ethnic origin, religion, or desperate efforts to pander?

Rubio and all the other open border pimps could care less. They have already cashed the checks and made the deals.

The media has convinced practically all non-whites (blacks, hispanics, 3rd world immigrants) that they are democrats .

ever try to convert any liberal or democrat? it's easier to convert a Muslim. so this is why the democrats want to import 100 million 3rd world immigrants. this is why they imported all these 3rd world non white immigrants with their 1965 immigration act. It's all to advance progressive(socialism) policies : the goal to turn the USA into a socialist/communist state.

Michael Steele became the RNC chair on January 30, 2009. The chart below is from HotAir.com. It shows Steele's approval rating in a PPP poll from April, 2010:

Notice that 5% favorable rating from blacks?

Tribal identity politics does not seem to work for Republicans.

Great post — data is great.

Blacks view M Steele and other black conservatives as traitors and enemies. The social pressure on blacks to conform to approved black political thought is tremendous. You wouldn’t believe the level and extent of pressure and propaganda from the schoolhouse to the church.
I have direct knowledge of it. I also have direct knowledge of how the law-abiding, immigrants and others, view the rule-of-law and how hard the legal immigrants work to become citizens. We must never devalue American citizenship. It is precious and means something greater than any citizenship in history.

Yeah, and it is just a poll, not an actual vote. I would imagine that Romney may have had even slightly higher poll numbers (remember Gallup, Dick Morris, etc.?) but when push comes to shove, moochers always come home to the treason party.

There are a handful of exceptions who understand that life can go on longer riding the wagon if there are more pullers. But few moochers think that deeply.

The rest were never moochers to begin with and share the same patriotic values as us other Americans.

The difference between the dog in the old Aesop's fable and your hardcore Democrat voter is that the dog realizes he was stupid.

Your hardcore Democrat voter never will. If anything, he will figure out a way to blame Republicans for tricking him into dropping the bone.

You could run Che Guevara against a Democrat and the Democrat would win.

Watching hacks in the Republican party bow and scrape in front of Mexicans reminds me watching a dog that, after being repeatedly kicked by its owner, still stupidly comes back with its tail between its legs hoping for some affection.

Jumping on the "me too" amnesty bandwagon won't win Republicans any more hispanic votes. The Democrats beat them to the racial pandering game and are much better at it. Mexicans can get both amnesty and their welfare/social services from the Democrats, so why would they support candidates who give them the first as Johnny-come-lately's but not the second?

The Fable is about moderate Republican CANDIDATES. They drop the base of conservatives who originally supported them to reach for; imaginary moderate voters, Republican-leaning Latino voters, conservative women who are pro-abortion, etc. etc, none of whom actually exist in any large numbers, yet they let go of their tried and true conservative base in pursuit of those imaginary voters.

Maybe. But RINOs, unlike the dog, have yet to admit they were stupid for the most part either. Occasionally, one of them will get religion, but I think you can count those examples on one hand. Offhand, I can't think of one.

Help me.

Rubio will get “Primaried” and defeated by the wonderful Allen West. He gained 1% with hispanics and lost 90% of conservatives.
