A speech for all times (Rubio's "Masterpiece")
The Washington Post ^ | June 27, 2013 | Jennifer Rubin

Posted on 06/29/2013 1:49:21 PM PDT by Colonel Kangaroo

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) gave a magnificent speech on immigrants and the meaning of America a few minutes ago. If you tear up and are moved, you understand why immigration reform is so critical. And if you sneer, roll your eyes and disparage his words, then there is nothing any bill or pundit will do to change your mind. Yours, in that case, is a different vision of America than mine.

After recounting the incredible details of his parents’ struggles and immigration he said:

This is not just my story. This is our story. It reminds us that we are “E Pluribus Unum.” “Out Of Many, One.”

Fact is, we are being invaded from Mexico.

This is true, and could be the key to screwing their plans over.

I have not heard his speech, yet I teared up before he even gave it.
Knowing that, as a FL resident, I voted for him caused me to cry about my own gullibility.
My abject apologies to non-FL FReepers.

Question: How solid if FL's gov?

Reminds me of the Kyle Bass comment, “I’m socially liberal, I just haven’t figured out how to pay for it.”

Uh-oh. Somebody better tell Mitt Romney about this. Jennifer Rubin was insanely enamoured of Romney and went out of her way to trash anyone who didn’t share her great love. Now it looks like she’s falling head-over-heels for Marco Rubio. Somehow I’m just not surprised.

Criminals being absolved of any responsibility for their criminal activity is the story of our country? And I don’t just mean entering the country illegally.

Hey Rubio, were your parents Illegal Immigrants?

Do you understand the concept that many legal immigrants are having real problems trying to get their papers due to the flood of Illegals, illegally tapping the health care services and retirement accounts of the Legal citizens of this country?

Or is this flowery speech all horse shit so you can tap the cash flow with the rest of the wolves we call Congress?

You scum would pimp your mother for chewing gum in my observed opinion.

Marco Rubio is a fraud, as is Rubin. Only simple minds are fooled by such lightweights. Bob

Amnesty for all illegal aliens has always been the number one aim of the snake Rubio. All the blather about border security has been nothing been a ruse.

And I’ve heard his story several times and it’s already become boring. It will soon be a joke on par with John Kerry reminding us back in 2004 that he served in Vietnam.

Immigration ‘reform’ starts with sending every one of these law-breaking miscreants back to where they came from, and confiscating their assets to pay the cost of the ride home.

What’s so wrong with LEGAL immigration?? Why does Rubio have to advocate breaking the law? Citizenship used to be something of value, to aspire towards. How in hades can Rubio just want to just hand citizenship to people who are criminals?
Actions speak louder than words, and Rubio has proven he does not value U.S. Citizenship.

Jennifer Rubin has always been in the pocket of the GOPe. She does not like tea partiers, either, believe me.

They are not only rewarding “illegalality” they are rewarding those who have been working these past 50+ years to divide America and Americans by race, language, ethnicity, income, religeon and anything else they could think of. Just part of the destruction of America.

Oh boohoo! There can be emotion laden rhetoric that tears at heart strings - but the question is - how are WE going to pay for THEM especially when our paychecks will take more hits for the benefits the rats keep putting into law to bribe their new voters.

They try to shame us for not giving these people what their own country won’t give any non-citizen.

Our congress: power hungry and suckers at the same time. Taking us down the rat hole.

Paul Ryan Leading House for ‘Amnesty’ Deal
Saturday, June 29, 2013 10:35 AM

Paul Ryan, the Republican congressman and former vice-presidential candidate best known for his war on spending, is emerging as his party’s leading champion of immigration reform in the U.S. House of Representatives.

With Senate passage of a sweeping immigration bill imminent, Ryan has been meeting with House conservatives to persuade them that reform of the immigration system, including a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants, is an economic necessity and critical to fixing the nation’s fiscal problems.

Ryan, a potential 2016 presidential contender, sees himself as a “bridge builder” between immigration advocacy groups and reluctant Republicans, he said in an interview with Reuters.

He argues that the immigration system is broken and must be overhauled. “It doesn’t work for national security. It doesn’t work for economic security,” Ryan said.

Something like 57% of illegal aliens are from Mexico. That’s not immigration. That’s an invasion.

I understand why Mexico moved North. They’re looking for jobs ($) and a better quality of life. Nevertheless, I didn’t invite them, and the fact that they’re leaving a crummy place doesn’t make it right.

Illegal aliens tend to live in the same areas of town and surround themselves with Mexican culture. Spanish-only local TV and radio stations are plentiful. I see little evidence they even want to be American. Oh, I don’t doubt many would take citizenship, but I don’t see much evidence they’re willing to give up their home country’s culture for America.

Americans like Rubio aren’t helping, either. We seem to be stuck on diversity and multiculturalism, except respect for all cultures doesn’t include respect for our OWN culture.
