Obama presses House to pass immigration bill before August recess
The Hill ^ | June 29, 2013 | Ben Geman

Posted on 06/29/2013 6:54:48 AM PDT by opentalk

President Obama on Saturday urged the GOP-led House to act this summer on immigration reform following Senate passage of a sweeping measure two days ago, declaring, “now is the time.”

“I do urge the House to try and get this done before the August recess. There is more than enough time,” Obama said in South Africa, his latest stop on a week-long trip through Africa.

“This thing has been debated amply, and they have got a bunch of weeks to get it done. Now is the time,” Obama added during a joint press conference with President Jacob Zuma.

… “I have called both Speaker Boehner and [Democratic] Leader Pelosi and encouraged them to find a path to get this done, and the framework that the Senate has set up is a sound framework,” Obama said.

Only chance to stop the Amnesty bill is for the House not to consider any immigration related bill at all.

Michelle Bachman explained it. ANY House bill no matter if it promises all the border security in the world will be a trojan horse.NO bill at all must come out of the House because it will be merged with the Senate Amnesty and trojan horse bill. Call congress.

Tell them to stop all Amnesty or immigration bills.they are all trojan horse bills. some will promise border security that will never be enforced anyway.

Bachmann explained it . The House will write a border security bill only . then in conference the senate will add the virus and then bring it back to the house. then the conservatives won’t vote for it but democrats will all vote for it so then they only need 10% of republicans to pass Amnesty and the virus that will destroy America. so any bill at all will be added the virus . so best thing is for Boner to not let any immigration bill at all come out of the House. that is the only hope . call boner and the members of the House.

The HOR should pass a bill demanding that the feds enforce immigration and border laws already on the books. If it goes any further, the administration will traitor enough ‘pubs to pass something, then change it in conference.

Before it’s over, the Capitol building will be SURROUNDED by sit-in “Sanchez’s”.... there’ll be a general strike called on ALL gardening... And, ALL Major TV network’s will be doing 24 hour telethons calling for a House bill.

Do ANY of you actually believe the Weepy One will withstand such a public beat down??

No way, Jose...

Each day conservative members should highlight a particular subject in this 1200 page monster bill. You can bet the RINOs who voted yes on it, never read it.

BO needs to get millions of illegals registered to vote Democrat in 2014, and the gold-plated dunces in the GOP will hop to it. They must really want to be a minority party like the good old days of Bob Michel and Tip O’Neil, the Golden Age of politics in America, establishing FDR’s socialism in the USA.

I like that idea. It’s time that we hold government responsible for this mess. They are responsible for protecting our borders. They pass laws that are not enforced and when a state tries to enforce then the DOJ harasses them.

The same could apply to countless other problems.

Only chance to stop the Amnesty bill is for the House not to consider any immigration related bill at all.

Paul Ryan is pushing this

Ingraham to Ryan: Why Are You Pushing a Bill the CBO Says Drives Down Wages?

...“If the amnesty happens, those people are going to be able to compete across every job line, across every employment sector,” she said.

”How does flooding the marketplace with more laborers to compete across every workplace environment – how is that good for the American middle class?”

Ryan didn’t respond directly to the charge, but said he had real concerns with the Gang’s bill that he’s confident the House can address. In fact, he said, “We’re not going to vote on the Senate bill. We’re doing it our own way on a separate track, and we are being very methodical about this . . . We know where the Senate bill has failed. We have an obligation to fix it in the House.”

NOTE also, beloved media legend Bob Woodward said, “when you pass complicated legislation and no one has really read the bill” then “the outcome is absurd.”

Sounds like satire material to me.

Yes, I believe we can win this fight.

Obama lost on the sequester, and was made out to look the fool. Boehner DID best him on that issue, and Americans are NOT demanding amnesty.

Call me a Polly Anna, but this is better for us than the picture the media paints.

We talk about NOT believing the liberal media all the time, but do we PRACTICE what we talk about?
