We try to stay out of the muck here on the Spectacle Blog, but its Friday, and this one was too outrageous to ignore.
MSNBC contributor Michael Eric Dyson made a comment yesterday that should have fueled mass outrage.
After Clarence Thomas voted with the majority to strike down the section of the Voting Rights Act requiring certain jurisdictions to receive pre-clearance before making any changes to voting laws, Dyson said of Thomas: A symbolic Jew has invited a metaphoric Hitler to commit holocaust and genocide upon his own people.

I’ve never heard anyone use, “symbolic Jew,” before, is that an existing phrase? If Herman Melville were Jewish, would he be a symbolic Jew?
I always get a kick out of how liberals are usually the actual racists and fascists they otherwise purport to despise.
This is a perfect example of “white privilege.” This type of insult is reserved just for blacks.
Is he calling Obama Hitler?
Isn’t The Won a symbolic Jew?
Is it time yet? I mean is there anyone organizing resistance to the unconstitutional scum that has taken over the reins of government to crush the people and our constitution?
A “symbolic Jew”? Dyson is an actual jackass.
Good thing Michael Eric Dyson isn’t a creepy ass cracker!
such horse blank rhetoric.
well, liberals are allowed to say and do anything, and face no sanctions.
I can’t understand the over-reaction. To listen to the liberals and race baiters, you would swear that officials are moving right now to delete black voters from the rolls. You would swear that Bull Connor and his police dogs and fire hoses will be at polling places to force away black voters.
Amazing how liberals react to events.
In liberal land it’s OK to $h!t on Whites, conservatives and otherwise normal people. Thomas has been proclaimed a symbolic White man, so it’s OK for liberals to $h!t on him.
Can he cook southern fried chicken in deep cast iron skillets of fat?
If I didn’t read it here on FR, I would never know, nor would I care, what went on over at MSNBC.
Why do people put up with this. What the voting rights does is say minorities are too stupid to figure anything out. And they applaud it.
The liberals pasted a Star of David on Thomas two decades ago so it makes sense in that context.
What the left is saying is that the results of fifty years of liberal policies has produced no net change and that no improvement has occurred. I find it oddly refreshing that these fools are accidentally that honest.
Or they are saying, by definition whites are racist.
This is the kind of bigoted, hateful analysis solicited, sponsored, and promoted by the same network that inserted an extra G in Niger Innis’s first name and claimed it was “an accident.”
