LONDON — British police have arrested a 75-year-old man on suspicion of causing an explosion after a homemade bomb went off near a mosque.
West Midlands Police said the man was arrested by counterterrorism officers Thursday at his home in Walsall, near the central England city of Birmingham.

I know you gave yours up willingly and that your Olympic shooting sports teams have to practice in OTHER COUNTRIES to avoid your governments restrictions. So what if a paltry number of UK peasants (you’re not a citizen if you’re disarmed and corraled like a sheep) own shotguns and air rifles... you’ve got “no go” sharia law zones in your major cities.
Outside the mosque, the bomb only sends a message. To be truly effective it needs to go off during Friday evening prayers inside the mosque.
Yes, the gun laws were/are stupid, but there are 2.3m legal weapons in the UK, rifles, shotguns and handguns. That may be paltry to you, but we have never been a major gun owning public.
As to no-go areas, this has been hyped up in the US because of a handful of incidents in London. Whilst there is a minority trying to create no-go areas, the police are and have clamped down on it, and the problem is not anywhere near as bad as the US hype makes out. There are NOT great areas of the UK that are no-go.
I think Americans would do well to clean up the many problems in their own society before you lecture others.
