Exactly.

They'll hem and haw for several minutes and dance around the questions and then call you a homophobe.

Yep, would welcome the namecalling... “noticed you called me a name but didn’t answer the question...”

In many cases the polygamist depends on the poor overtaxed citizen to keep his life style. It is hard enough for many men to look after one wife and two or three children, unless he is a highly paid professional.

The polygamist laughs up his sleeve at the racket he lives by. He could not afford that life style on his own.

From: LDS Church responds to Supreme Court decisions on gay marriage

Regardless of the court decision, the [LDS] Church remains irrevocably committed to strengthening traditional marriage between a man and a woman, which for thousands of years has proven to be the best environment for nurturing children.

I believe polygamy is a long way off.

Why? "It's for the children". "It's about benefits and protecting rights" "Why can't I marry Fido so he's cared for if I pass on?"It's just not fair to the children of the first marriage to be second-class citizens after the divorce....all the kids should be together'

Of course I don't approve....I don't think the government should be involved in marrying people at all. But I can see these arguments following.

Polygamy and homosexuality go together like flies and maggots. Multiple wives for some men means lots of other men with nowhere to turn but each other. Feel the looooooooove ....

Now, wait a minute......

Who says this is a one way street? If men can have multiple wives, then women will demand multiple husbands.

At least for as long as sharia law is not in effect.......

The numbers don’t usually work out that way, but you’re welcome to give it a try. Multiple husbands would be worse than sharing the house with one husband and six sons, though!

I'll let someone else do that. One is enough.

Just pay no attention to the man behind the curtain who was "told by god that he was to have 37 wives".....isn't it funny how the collective mormon memory works???

...Just pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

Like THIS one??

"Now if any of you will deny the plurality of wives, and continue to do so, I promise that you will be damned;

and I will go still further and say, take this revelation, or any other revelation that the Lord has given,

and deny it in your feelings, and I promise that you will be damned.

Brigham Young - JoD 3:266 (July 14, 1855)

The question is, do you believe Brigham Young to have been a false Prophet?

Do ANY of you "damned " SLC mormons reading this, who has gotten any information from your church, that old B.Y. was:

1. Speaking the very words of GOD
2. Drunk
3. On peyote
4. REALLY upset at SOMEone
5. Or just running his mouth as a man: a mere mortal, prone to the slings and arrows that beset us all or do you
6. just accept the FACT that you are, truly, damned for not following your Scripture found in D&C 132:58-66?

I expect most women would say that. The evidence of history and anthropology strongly indicates that neither men nor women care for polyandry.

“According to the law now, it is.”

Man can make any law he wants, but there is little value in it...in a valueless world.
