“This Gang of Eight bill delegates a lot of authority to the administration," he explained. "So, with my amendment, ‘Trust But Verify,’ we tried to get that authority back and keep it in Congress, where Congress would vote on whether the border is secure.
“Ultimately, whether or not these people become citizens, under the Gang of Eight bill, is up to the president,” Paul continued. “I don’t care if it’s a Republican president or a Democratic president. That’s too much power for one person to have."
"So, I would have kept that power with Congress and said Congress has to vote whether the border is secure before we keep moving forward. I would make even the initial process of giving work people visas dependent on a secure border," he stated.
With help from the Gang of Eight Republicans, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid succeeded in a motion to table, or kill, Paul’s amendment that would have secured the border before legalizing America’s at least 11 million illegal immigrants. Paul’s amendment also would have left the determination of whether the border was actually secured up to Congress rather than unelected bureaucrats and cabinet officials in the executive branch.

I heard something truly frightening about this bill. It is mandated that employers buy their employees obamacare or pay a fine. That is not required if they were to hire one of the amnesteyed people. That in effect would move them to the FRONT of the line for jobs.
What chaps me is the propensity for thousands of pastors across the US favoring this thing because it is, bipartisan...and is so biblical to help the immigrant. There are so many things that violates and isn’t true about...how about stealing? What about ranchers and folks on the border being raped, killed, etc.? It steals money from me...it is so political but the pastors don’t see it as such; they lay back, get the salary and benefits while poor saps like me bust their but and want a path to citizenship for immigrants, but not in this way.

I don't buy the claim that Rubio and other pro-amnesty Republicans are just naive but well-intentioned people led astray by the Machiavellian genius of Barack Obama.
They know perfectly well what they're doing: which is the same thing that Obama is - pandering for Hispanic votes. What's pathetic about the whole deal is that Obama and the Democrats will always win at this game, because they have so much more to offer the illegals. Sure, the Republicans will give them amnesty too, but will Republicans also support food stamps, welfare checks, government sponsored healthcare, affirmative action, bilingual education, etc?
We are already under a one party rule. The Democrats say what is needed, and the republicans quake in their boots and surely don’t have any backbone, and just want to be liked, so they go happily along. Based on watching the hearings it seems their about 50 solid patriots on The Hill. Out of 535 Senators and Reps. We had more troops at the Alamo and you know how that ended.
The Dems have a plan and are executing it. Executing their policies so well they have decided to dabble in running the GOP. Outside of a handful of patriots the GOP is nothing more than a bunch of careerist pigs feeding at the K Street trough. They have been totally whipped by the Dems/MSM and have given up any interest in engaged opposition to team kenya.
This is eerily similar to what a Dem congressman said about FDR's attempt to pack the SCOTUS: "This is more power than a good man should want or a bad man should have."

I’ve got a better idea Seanator Paul-how about a constitutional amendment taking the power to grant amnesty away from both the president and congress. Both branches have become vote chasing whores and seek to do what they think is in their interests and not the interests of the country.
Our tolerance for debt-based welfare to immigrants is equal to our tolerance for the debt that we are willing to pass onto our children and grandchildren.
Reduce our tolerance for debt-based Federal Programs, and our tolerance for immigration will also be reduced.

While Rubio and his Eight Senate Gangsters put out political smoke and mirrors to “get a bill passed this year,” nothing they have said will change the basic problem of aliens illegally invading the USA.
The Basic Problem: Illegal aliens invade the USA for Welfare and Wages.
Solutions that address the Basic Problem:
1.) End the Anchor Baby Law.
2.) End the Hospital Emergency Room No Payment Law (EMTALA).
3.) End ANY other Welfare to Aliens.
4.) Fine US employers $1,000 per day per employee who is an alien.
5.) Spend NO money on “securing the border.” It is a bottomless money pit.
6.) Spend money on Chainlink/ Concertina wire desert prisons for the EXISTING Federal Law for a mandatory 6 month imprisonment for repeat offenders who have invaded our Country more than once.
7.) Transfer Border Invasion Enforcement to the US National Guard in each State, and thus under the control of the Governor of each State. The less Federal involvement, the better.
8.) Repeal all State and Federal Laws that prohibit voter officials and Police from requesting proof of US Citizenship for any reason what so ever.
9.) Be as hostile to all illegal alien invaders as we should be to all Federal politicians and Federal Judges who vote for or support another Ted Kennedy-style amnesty bill with no significant Federal enforcement.
Contact your local TEA Party, and plan to kick the sorry RINOs and even sorrier Democrats out of Congress in 2014!
