Corker Amendment Permanently Offers Citizenship to Those Overstaying Their Visa
Brietbart ^ | 21 Jun 2013 | Mike Flynn

Just as public anxiety about the weak border security provisions in the Senate immigration bill was building, GOP Sen. Bob Corker stepped forward with an amendment to "fix" the problem. The result of his efforts, however, has been a "christmas tree" measure, covering items far beyond border security. Breitbart News has learned exclusively that one provision of Corker's amendment will allow workers who stay in the country past their visa will remain on the "path to citizenship."

Even in the future, breaking the law won't stop progress on what VP Joe Biden calls the "unfettered path" to citizenship.

Current law states that those applying for green cards are ineligible if they are either "illegally present" at any point or overstay the terms of their work visa. Such an immigrant, in current law, would have to return to their home country and restart the immigration process. The Corker Amendment wipes away that enforcement mechanism.

Let us hope this goes down in flames. IF the GOP assists in passing this in the Senate and passing onto the House and the House paases it in committee let us hope the GOP meets it's demise before the election of 2014.

This is utter madness with a political class bent on legitimizing Invasion

They must think that the police state they have erected will somehow hold it all together.

another problem...WHY the RUSH???

Just a few felony crimes that will be waived for ILLEGAL aliens under Immigration Bill S.744:

‘Falsely representing or knowingly using a Social Security Number obtained with false information’

‘Falsely claiming citizenship on Form I-9’

‘Knowingly altering a Social Security Card’

‘Document fraud to prove eligibility for employment’

http://obamareleaseyourrecords.blogspot.com/2013/06/immigration-bill-waives-felony-document-fraud.html

Comment at site may say it all: “Isn’t Barack Obama subject to charges for all of these offenses? Maybe that’s why the immigration bill is getting the ultra-fast track treatment; maybe evidence of his ineligibility is mounting toward levels which can no longer be ignored.”

The system started in the immediate post WWI era, barely a century. You have to recall that for most of our history most of the people coming here didn't want to be here!

Obviously they were stupid ~ but we had to GIVE stuff to wheat farmers in Europe to move here!

Most of my own lineages are made up of people who were here as early as the mid 1500s ~ and that's just rare as all get out ~ seriously. Big time immigration didn't show up until the early 1800s when two decisions were made ~ (1) to allow Catholics to move here, and (2) to give away land.

Mind you not all the Catholics in the world came here ~ and not all the landless poor did either, but there was plenty of hard work for everyone who did and a chance to become an important person, or maybe even wealthy.

For the greater part of our history you couldn't pay a Mexican enough to come here ~

If they give illegal aliens tax amnesty, citizenship, etc, I am denouncing my US citizenship and taking an Hispanic name, refuse to pay any further taxes. I can declare tax amnesty and vote as many times as I want to.

Disgraceful and unforgivable behavior by the Senate GOP. They are putting their House brethren in an untenable position. The MSM will move heaven and Earth to push a bill, ANY bill, through the House.

I cannot understand how southern GOP senators are getting away with this crap, whether they are up in 2014 or 2016.

This is political suicide for the GOP.

>> an amendment to “fix” the problem.

Coordinated and timed. No chance for public response.

These deceitful GOPsters remind me of the “Pro Life” Democrats that signed onto Obamacare in exchange for the meaningless EO.
