"New York Democrats Want to Ban Police From Describing Suspects By Race, Sex, or Age"

Isn't it offensive to label them "Suspects"?

Forget it Jake, it’s New York City.

Why not simply legalize crime? That will fix everything.

What happens when they ask for a composite sketch. Can the artist ask whether it was male or female?... black, brown, white, yellow?...young or middle age or old?

The DEMS are truly “off the friggin wall” on every subject. PC has rotted their brains.

Yet, it is important to answer those questions for every other purpose. Why is this one so important?

LOL.....the stupid is STRONG in NY. It will surely make for hilarious crime reporting.....

'Police are seeking the public's help in identifying a burglary suspect today. As you can see from the pixilated surveillance image, the suspect is described as being human, appears to about 5 foot 7 and was described by witnesses as possibly smelling like a popular deodorant soap.'

It won’t stop with just the cops. It will be expanded to include victims of crimes. They too will only be able to describe the perpetrator by the clothing they were wearing.

“The bill’s sponsor, JUMAANE Williams (D-Brooklyn), and Speaker Christine Quinn”

“A rep for Quinn said she sent the proposals to a floor vote because a MAJORITY of council members SUPPORTED it and Public Safety Committee chair Peter Vallone Jr. — an opponent — refused to let it out of committee.”

“Williams and fellow Brooklyn Democrat Brad Lander, a co-sponsor of the proposal, say it would only expand the city’s existing racial-profiling law by adding other demographic groups that should be protected, such as the homeless and gay people.”

Looks like it’s going to be a done deal.

If they passed this, within a month the papers would be filled with stories about black teenage boys being questioned for crimes committed by elderly Asian women. If anything, having a description for the assailant protects innocent people who belong to groups that commit a disproportionate number of crimes, since instead of being a suspect for every crime he would be a suspect for a much smaller number of crimes.

Why not just hush up crimes entirely? It's racist (not to say, bad for the Democratic Party's image) to even mention anything that happens.

So if I commit a crime in NYC, police “descriptions” will lead everyone to suspect that I’m young and minority? How cool is that? < /sarc >

The ad warns that if cops transmit a description of a suspect that goes beyond the color of his or her clothing, they could be sued for racial profiling if the proposal becomes law.

So if you rob a bank bring a spare set of clothing and get away scott free....

Or just wear reversable clothing that is a different color on it...

The libs are just insane. Why anybody listens to them, or votes to give them authority over anything, is beyond comprehension.

Then again, how stupid does it make the right-that they constantly lose to them-the obviously crazy,power-mad, liberals?
