FBI director admits domestic use of drones

The FBI uses drones for domestic surveillance purposes, the head of the agency told Congress early Wednesday.

Robert Mueller, the director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, confirmed to lawmakers that the FBI owns several unmanned aerial vehicles, but has not adopted any strict policies or guidelines yet to govern the use of the controversial aircraft.

“Does the FBI use drones for surveillance on US soil?” Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) asked Mr. Mueller during an oversight hearing on Capitol Hill Wednesday before the Senate Judiciary Committee.

“Yes,” Mueller responded bluntly, adding that the FBI’s operation of drones is “very seldom.”

Asked by Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-California) to elaborate, Mueller added, “It’s very seldom used and generally used in a particular incident where you need the capability.” Earlier in the morning, however, Mueller said that the agency was only now working to establish set rule for the drone program.

What about him investigating the targeting of conservatives
by the IRS and whistleblowers by DNC-murderers???

Not so much interest it seems.

This is by the book stuff here.

Why would they develop guidelines, when they can use the development of guidelines to shed any blame for the first time something goes terrible wrong?

Hypothetical:

This incident has caused us to take a look at drawing up guidelines for use of these devices. This is something we never foresaw happening. Now we'll make sure this never happens again."

Gag me...

“Guidelines? We don’t got to show you no guidelines!”

Welcome to the Democrat Banana Republic.

In other words, they do it a lot.

I imagine all the alphabets have them by now. Creepy.

I wonder if we’re ever going to learn what rules or regulations they follow since Mueller says they are just now getting around to figuring them out.

Reba McIntyre told us on a radio interview, “The government needs to set guidelines,” after telling us she owns guns, but no one should own “assault rifles”.

The question should have been are they ARMED drones?

Translation of Muller statement:

Absent an existing protocol/doctrine regarding lawful use of drones against citizens of this republic the FBI falls back on the Lon Horiuchi tactic, “whatever...just whack ‘em.”.

( Unless they’re adherents of TROP )

local police farces are trying to get their own drones. The more, the easier it is to fly undetected (by agency).

I get non-armed drones for targeted areas, such as secret service areas or areas where terrorists might target. Airborne assets are a great eye in the sky. But drones for general population surveillance? No thanks.

I remember a small crowd here a year or two ago being ok with Hussein’s drone programme to protect our interests overseas, as long as it wasn’t on US soil...

This is so illegal.

I’ve listened to just the first couple of lectures of Mike Farris’s (Home School Legal Defense Association & Patrick Henry College) “Constitutional Literacy” class.

These alphabet agencies are out of control, and the laws and regulations they pass are completely, totally illegal.(Laws are ONLY to be passed by elected officials, not unelected bureaucrats or judges.) See Article I Section I and the 10th Amendment. (OK you all understand this better than I do, but after hearing Mr. Farris explain it, it is so clear.)

State governors need to start standing up and saying, NO MORE, these agencies are not allowed on our sovereign state soil and get them OUT of the states. Do not allow the physical presence of the FBI, IRS, EPA to set foot in your state. Have the states collect whatever federal tax and send it in.

There are remedies in the Constitution, it just will take some elected state governors and representatives with guts to stand up to the tyrants. And no doubt, it will take courage. We need some men and women with a deep understanding of our constitution and nerves of steel to call their bluff, and if the Federal government is not bluffing, and chooses to war against the states, then it’s time for states to push back against federal government, agencies and judges. They are no longer a legitimate government.

I’m not even saying secession, I’m saying, individual states decide to nullify illegal laws, regulations and AGENCIES, and then they protect their citizens from illegal enforcement by the federal government.
