NSA Foiled NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) Terrorist Plot, We Now Learn
Zero Hedge ^ | June 18, 2013

Posted on 06/18/2013 9:58:07 AM PDT by Zakeet

To think it only took the world's most (in)famous whistleblower to get the NSA to disclose that it had heroically managed to prevent terrorist attacks involving the New York Stock Exchange (we supposed they refer to the Manhattan-based TV studio and not the actual exchange where the servers are now housed in Mahwah, NJ) and the NY Subway. Because whereas there was a time in the past when the various US secret services would scurry at the opportunity to disclose their expertise to the general public, now it is a false negative that is supposed to disprove a positive (pervasive spying on the US population is good for you because...). Of course it takes one non-false positive to disprove a false negative, namely the Boston Bombers, who as far as we recall, used cell phones to communicate. But so much for details: now please praise the NSA, and also comply with the Administration's push to rescind the second amendment. Or is Obama no longer pushing for "arms control"?

From NBC:

National Security Agency surveillance programs helped disrupt plots to bomb the New York Stock Exchange and the New York subway system, an FBI official told Congress on Tuesday.

The official, Deputy Director Sean Joyce, said that the programs also linked an American citizen in Chicago to the 2008 terror attacks on hotels in India and to a plot to bomb the offices of a Danish newspaper that published a cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad.

Gen. Keith Alexander, the NSA director, told the committee that the programs had helped stop more than 50 “potential terrorist events” since the Sept. 11 attacks. He said he would provide classified details of all of them to the committee Wednesday.

“I would much rather be here today debating this point than trying to explain how we failed to prevent another 9/11,” Alexander said.

Joyce gave limited details on the foiled plots. In the stock exchange plot, he said, the NSA monitored an extremist in Yemen who was in contact with an operative in the United States.

In the subway plot, he said, the NSA intercepted an email from a terrorist in Pakistan in 2009 who was talking with someone in the United States about perfecting a recipe for explosives. He said that person turned out to be Najibullah Zazi, who later pleaded guilty in the plot and is in federal prison.

Which is the greater hazard- governmental excess or terrorism?

In the 20th century, democide cost more lives than ALL the wars fought between nations.

They did a great job thwarting the plot to blow up the Boston Marathon.

Yeah I’m sure the families of those killed in the Boston Marathon wholly support this program... NOT!

“These people lie about everything.”

Yup! What possible reason could there be for us to believe anything that someone representing this regime has to say!

The only thing I would add is that if we look back on the history of Islam, their non-stop butchery would equal the 20ty century democide as far as percentages of population slaughtered.

And at this point there is no either/or about governmental excess and terrorism - “The Taliban is inside the building.”

In the case of American mosques, the “dots” are intentionally being not seen (per orders from the Obama regime), let alone connected with other dots.

Just profiling muslems isn’t going to do the trick either...though helpful...it takes ALL that we have avaialable....and you can be certain other nations have it as well or soon will .

I don’t believe it. They’d have to provide names, dates, places, pictures, recordings (we all know they have them)....etc. Just don’t believe it.

You mean like in World War II how the UK regularly publicly announced the dates and lists of ships saved every time they diverted a convoy to avoid a U-Boat wolfpack, based on Enigma decrypts of the German naval code, along with transcripts of the intercepted messages?

Oh, wait, they didn't do that. I wonder why?

The nation is far more likely to fall because of creeping totalitarianism because of this kind of massive surveillance than from lack of massive surveillance failing to detect a terrorist attack. These programs were in place and they failed to stop the Boston bombers when the feds had a lead from the Russians to put them on their radar. You raise a false choice.

That’s just it: THEY AREN’T

They are holding to the fantasy that white christian males are the threat.

Who ever doubted NSA had stopped terror attacks on and in the US? The question really is: couldn’t they have been stopped without NSA having to eavesdrop on every last American???

It seems as if our political leaders don’t have the courage to profile potential terrorists for fear of offending a small % of the population, so they must offend/eavesdrop on the entire population.

They both may very well be our undoing....

However it's important to remember that one the intelligence is collected and shared it's then in the hands of men to ACT on it. The intellegence was there...men refused to act in the case of the Boston Bomber.

Regardless of how sophisticated our machinery is...it requires human action..and humans will never be perfect this side of heaven.

Which is exactly why we have a 4th Amendment, heck, why we have an entire Constitution meant to constrain the powers of the federal government. Tens of millions were killed by their own governments last century. I'll chance an occasional missed terrorist attack over the clear danger our out-of-control government is beginning to represent.

Look...any group or individual who is not on board with the Globalist Agenda will be shoved aside...that’s just reality.

The ME society IS part of the NWO equation and planned for.....settling them in our country and others simply furthers their education and understanding to establish them for the roles they will play.

It’s no accident our outcries are not being met with action....we are out of their loop!
