Second Rubio Aide Argued Some Americans Not Cut Out for Workforce
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | June 17, 2013 | Matthew Boyle

A second staffer for Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) disparaged American workers during an interview with Ryan Lizza, a partial transcript of the interview the New Yorker reporter released Monday afternoon shows.

Originally, it appeared as though only one anonymous Rubio “aide” disparaged American workers and only did so in the context of speaking about low-skilled jobs in the U.S. However, the Lizza interview transcript shows two aides referenced low-skilled and high-skilled American workers.

Lizza asked the two staffers to respond to this statement: “Well their argument is, what, that they have American workers for these jobs, they don’t need this program.”

The thus-far unidentified “Rubio Aide 1” said that some workers either can't or won't make it in the work force anyway:

Yeah. I mean one of the problems you have with this, "Oh, there’s American workers who are unemployed." There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it. There shouldn’t be a presumption that every American worker is a star performer. There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it. And so you obviously can’t discuss that publicly because—

At that point, “Rubio Aide 2” interjected, “But the same is true for high-skilled workers.”

“Aide 1” then said, “Yes, and the same is true across every sector, in government, in everything.”

Lizza’s story had originally not specified that two Rubio aides made the argument, leaving a little room for Rubio’s staff to try to discredit the reporting.

As excerpted by Politico’s Mike Allen Sunday morning, Lizza’s story reported the exchange as follows:

Rubio sided with the Chamber against the construction workers. "There are American workers who, for lack of a better term, can’t cut it," a Rubio aide told me....

Inquiring minds would like to know what are the educational and employment backgrounds of aides 1 and 2. Let’s see if they cut it.

What they really mean is that foreign workers will come and work for less.

Isn’t this a form of treason, making laws that benefit foreign criminals at the expense of US citizens?

The liberal invasion of the GOP is very real.

So very true.

The staff/aides of the rwo parties are interchangeable. One term they may work for the GOP, the next for the dems.

This is why the GOP is not worth fixing. The staffing/infrastructure of a ‘fixed’ GOP will still be filled with mercs, not people who believe in something.

Ever wonder where leaks come from? Need you ask? So why waste tens of millions in money no one has to rebuild a damaged product? Why not start with something that is baggage free and not infested?

Actually they are coming here to work for more. Abolish the minimum wage.

I don’t why Freepers are so angry when the aide is right. These people who are not cut out for the workforce collect welfare and are called leeches. They can be found in places where the last sentence heard in conversations is “do you know what I’m saying?”

There are people who just can’t get it, can’t do it, don’t want to do it.

They don't want to do it, because they can get fed, clothed and housed for doing nothing. Abolish they welfare state.

Should we consign them to 60 years of “leeching” or cut the red tape and bureaucracy so that business can thrive and they can work? A man or woman that supports their family, even at minimum wage, is much happier, productive and mentally balanced than a welfare ward of the state.

I wonder what the same aides would think about those illegal workers who are here who cannot speak English.

They want their freedom here but seem to show loyalty to their dear Mexico versus the America.

They are saying anything that will stick; so they can pass this amnesty. I would never trust Marco’s aides. It also comes across as insulting now that two of his aides have said this/putting American worker against illegal worker. Not talking about a person with a green card while going through the legal steps of citizenship.

I’m not saying don’t start a new political party but rest assured the spies-trolls from the other ones will show up to keep an eye on you and disrupt as best they can through subterfuge.

The treason of an NBC and his/her staff
is never done, it seems.

Rubio MUST NEVER be a candidate of any conservative
because .... he is not.

"They don't want to do it, because they can get fed, clothed and housed for doing nothing. Abolish they welfare state."

And they vote Democrat and supply the ground forces for Obama's take the streets pressure groups. That's the deal and they are the fruition of a leftist education/indoctrination system.

I worked in an underground mine the best part of my life. It was said that only white trash and Mexicans would work there. The work paid quite well but was rather brutally hard and hot (even with ventilation). Rural people used to hard work did well, urban people regardless of ethnicity couldn’t cut it.

West VA coal miners come from within the communities as well. I haven’t much use for urban type workers though I’d imagine the steel mill workers to be generally good folks.

There is some truth in what this aid says. Imagine the cast of Friends working in a steel mill.
