Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) on Monday announced his intention to file another amendment to the so-called “gang of eight” immigration bill that is facing tough opposition from some GOP lawmakers.

“I’ll file amendment to immigration bill that permits states to require ID before registering voters & close this hole in [federal] statutory law,” Cruz wrote via his official Twitter account.

Cruz has consistently opposed the immigration bill, voting against its advancement in the Senate three times and has shown no signs of flipping on the legislation.

Cruz previously attempted to amend the bill to remove the path to citizenship provisions for illegal immigrants. As previously mentioned, the Texas Republican’s latest amendment would require states to require ID before registering voters.....

If whatever laws get passed DO NOT include A POISON CLAUSE THAT INVALIDATES THE ENTIRE THING if all related pre-conditions are not met we do not need them!

If all existing immigration laws are ignored with impunity, we sure as hell do not need more laws to be ignored with impunity.

Surely, the great legislative minds can devise a means to attach serious penalties (jail time?) to the branch of government charged with enforcing them!

We need to be careful of any concessions because if the House passes any form of Amnesty bill, nothing good will come out of a conference committee, but the bill will come to the floor and will be passed by the democrats.
