Where is Daddy?

On this Father's Day, we celebrate a dying role. With all of the problems currently plaguing our culture -- crime, violence, promiscuity, poverty, divorce, drug abuse, and so on -- the one thing that we as a nation could do to remedy such things most quickly would be to return fathers to their families.

You've almost certainly heard the sad statistics when it comes to fatherhood in America.

The missing sires won’t come back and be fathers as long as the government pays them to stay away and pays their brood sows to have more babies with annonymous sperm doners.

Nice article, but it avoids the real reason, that the Federal Government handsomely rewards and encourages repetitive bearing of children out of wedlock, even if the parturients are minors. It fully supports the newborns and mother, and acts as an 'entry point' into the cradle to grave socialism. It frees up the male to continue with another partner, and no child support is demanded.

It is without a doubt the most effective thing the government has done to destroy our culture.

Yours is the only accurate post so far. What we have is a generation of young men, sons of mothers with multiple sons sired by multiple men.
The young learn from observing their elders, whether human or lion cubs, and the young men in this country increasingly have NO exposure to the advantages of a caring father.
No stern look, no pointed finger, no raised voice, no whack on the butt, nothing that TEACHES that youngster the ways the world works. No lesson in manners, no direction of courtesy, never does he hear the loudly spoken word “NO!!”.
Thus, the streets belong to young feral animals.

I believe I read/heard last week that Russia is proposing a TAX on women who have children out of wedlock....SOMETHING WE SHOULD DO!!! Reward GOOD behavior....Punish BAD behavior.

In this, the New America, “Fathers Day” should be renamed “Sperm Donors Day.”

I agree. Love the lion cub reference.

Lions are raised in prides, wildebeest in herds. In a pride, all siblings are very closely related, closer even than they are to the parents. In wildebeest, who knows, but they are not monogamous.

We are in the process of changing (devolving if you will pardon the value judgement) from a society composed of families (prides) to one dominated by a mother-child relationship (herd).

It does not suit me but we may be too late to change back.

At church there was no mention of Father’s Day. None.

Which is honestly better than the typical “Step up you SOB!” Father’s day sermon.

Don’t want to make those without a father feel bad you know.

My former son in law’s wages are garnished by the state of Texas though he lives in Florida and has had contact three times with his beautiful son in the last 8 years.

As grandparents, my husband and I have taken on that role..the one our grandson’s father should have taken. He abandoned two children and is furious our daughter had the state of Texas garnish his wages. But we are blessed to have a beautiful grandson. He is an absolute joy. His father has missed so much.
