According to new details leaked to The Guardian (UK) by NSA leaker Edward Snowden, American and British intelligence directed snooping efforts against internet and phone data from foreign officials at the G20 in 2009. According to the documents, which were created by the NSA and handed over to the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev’s phone calls were bugged, and emails and calls from other delegates’ phones were monitored as well.

Fake internet cafes were created to grab keystrokes from attendees. Forty-five analysts were given round-the-clock updates on who was calling whom at the summit. The Turkish finance ministers and others in his party were targeted as well.....

Ever notice that presidents like Nixon, Reagan and the Bushes knew how to keep state secrets? This amateur really has no idea and the fact that this is his first job really shows.

If Snowden leaked this, he’s in trouble.

I support him revealing what may be illegal activity against U. S. Citizens on U. S. soil, but I expect our clandestine agencies to be seeking information anywhere they can overseas.

As far as I am concerned both sides do that sort of stuff.

I think this is the first actionable thing I’ve seen reported. Wish he hadn’t revealed this. Now he’ll just look bad IMO.

That’ll bury anything good he may have done.

It looks to me that this would be another case of not using the system as advertised. The 2009 G20 Meeting was in Pittsburgh. It looks like either Obama/NSA was pretending that they think that the leaders of the top 20 economic powers of the world are terrorists or that they were communicating to terrorists, or it’s another simple case of Big Brother.

Yes, I agree. There is sort of a gentleman’s agreement that they won’t out it in public though. And Snowden outing this just looks turncoat by doing it.

Big mistake IMO.

Is this news? Isn’t this expected?

Unofficially yes. But to be exposed in public like this IMHO it is an international incident, a diplomatic disaster for the United States government and the president too.

This is an incident because nations never formally admit that they listen to others.

Isn’t it nice that the entire world gets to see how Mr. Obama spies on everyone. He’s broken the record for mini dictator and narcissist. Obama and his followers are being laughed at. See, what we are dealing with, world.

Don’t you think it kind of goes to intent? I mean why would he reveal something like this? Did he think he was going to be some hero for breaking this? It was dumb.

Now for the first time the government may have something they can go after him on. What an idiotic move.

I will say this though, this may be a disinformation move on the part of government agencies. This may be getting much uglier in the next few days.

Snowden is so naive to believe the public should know what he is leaking, he sees it as a public service. It is an international disaster and a diplomatic disaster, the kind that destroys trust between nations.

I would have an international manhunt underway for Snowden. He would not be safe anywhere in the world....but then, that why I am not the leader and Obama is. If only he knew how to handle things like this....but alas his incompetence shows every day.

‘Snowden’ might very be an 0bama ‘false flag’ to further weaken America by sabotaging what little foreign policy relationships we have left. It’s all about strangling America, ya know.

Oops, these would be London G20 meetings, not Pittsburgh. A rare instance of black-letter journalistic malpractice over at The Blaze.
