Orrin Hatch: Think the IRS Is Bad Now? Just Wait. ( for when it administers Obamacare )
WSJ ^ | June 15, 2013 | Orrin Hatch

Posted on 06/15/2013 7:14:51 PM PDT by Innovative

The Internal Revenue Service has never been an agency much loved by the American people. With the IRS's targeting of conservative groups, its already bad reputation has now sunk to a new low.

But the scandal raises a critical question: If the IRS can't manage an increase of 1,700 applications for tax-exempt status that the agency said spurred its targeting of conservative groups, how will the IRS handle its massive new role in implementing ObamaCare?

Look at the Earned Income Tax Credit. Whether you like this refundable credit or not, the Treasury Department's inspector general for tax administration reported in April that improper payments account for 21% to 25% of total EITC payments in 2012. Take the percentage of improper EITC payments and apply it to the approximate $1 trillion we'll spend on ObamaCare premium credits in the decade beginning 2014. The math shows that we could see between $210 billion and $250 billion distributed to those who shouldn't get it—because the IRS has no system in place to verify reported household income.

Put all the potential fraud and improper payments with these credits on top of the already soaring budget for the premium subsidies and we're headed for a disaster.

So what would you tell Orin Hatch to do?

And what does Orrin Hatch plan to do about it?

Want to bet the new NSA data collection center in Utah is a Hatch pork barrel project?

It sounds like you are saying that Orrin Hatch is bad too, but I think others have already made that comment! I guess UT sent Mike Lee up there to dilute Hatch.

What makes you think the American people will ever begin “to holler” as you put it?

Well, that is about the first thing I thought of too.

"The math shows that we could see between $210 billion and $250 billion distributed to those who shouldn't get it—because the IRS has no system in place to verify reported household income."

He wants his bureaucrats to be allowed to monitor your bank accounts, real time.

they are agressive idiots with way too much power over people, and they are right until proven wrong, and even then they are still not wrong, and these will be the people you will deal with regarding your healthcare and incredibly sensitive personal info.

"If any of these elected officials were sincere..."

They are sincere.

They sincerely understand what is coming and they are either supporters of it, on the inside, or resistors of it, on the outside. THAT is what they are sincere about. Their oath to uphold the Constitution, their morals, their appreciation for tradition, their love of the country...this is all passe. Dead meat. Gone. End.

I think its time to round up career politicians and try them for treason. We can do it now in an orderly fashion or later with much messiness.

55,57,58, does it really matter ?

Why do you think he would say 57+1 when most people believe there are only 50 ?

It wasn’t the teleprompter, and it’s not like he doesn’t know how many stars are on the flag.

Besides, he was probably lying about having gone to them all.

The IRS is the perfect example of the NAZI mindset and bureaucracy.

The legislators, in ‘crafting’ their laws garner the input and requirements of experts, many of them from the very FedGov groups they oversee. Additionally, the Courts have held that those same ‘expert’ bureaucrats should be given ‘latitude’ in determining just how far to implement the self-crafted rules of implementation.

As a result, the courts consider it a legislative prerogative to give the creation of the implementing rules to the bureaucrats and will rarely intercede. Meanwhile the legislators claim that it is the executive branch that is responsible for the overreach.

I no longer believe we have enough folk in DC that are cognizant of the restrictions our Constitution places on their activities. Too many of the Reid/Pelosi socialists, and too few of the Rand Paul/Bachmann constitutionalists.

God save the USA!

...Senate and House will do NOTHING
about it because THEY ARE NOT UNDER IT.
Nor are their families. Nor their staff.
***************
They WILL be under Obamacare Jan.1st. That’s why there have been recent articles about Congress critters and their staffers considering quitting their jobs. Many have stated that they will not be able to afford the premiums.

Well done video on the para-military IRS raids on small businesses. Do we really want to give them more power over us?

We have not seen this type of government attacking a group of people since the KKK. The KKK was the democrats group of thugs targeting republicans. Even the Japanese camps we had a reason the war with the Japanese government.

Given this massive abuse by government the IRS shouldn't even exist after what took place. Anyone not working for that objective should just move aside and let someone that can get the job done
