Obamacare has federal work force panicked
The Washington Times ^ | June 13, 2013 | Charles Hurt

Say what you want about President Obama but you got to give the guy credit. He finally discovered the holy grail for dislodging the bloated ranks of federal workers from their jobs.

Force them into Obamacare!

According to a report in Politico Thursday, lawmakers and their staff all over Capitol Hill are heading for the exits.

Turns out, they can endure the toxic air of politics, slavishly long hours, dinky offices and lecherous lawmakers creeping up and down the halls. But one thing they simply will not abide? Being forced into the very same health care exchanges that they themselves created for the rest of us innocent citizens.

So how does it help them if they quit their job- Everyone has to have insurance It is the law so they will just have to pay the HIGH prices we have to.

It DOES help them to quit their job. I heard Rush say that if they quit or retire they are allowed to continue on their EXISTING HC plan. Unlike us schmucks who lose coverage when we lose our jobs, we get to keep paying for their healthcare coverage even after they move on.

So where are they all running to?

I don't think it matters. From what I've heard as long as they retire or quit, they are allowed to keep their existing government healthcare plan and do not need to sign up for Obamacare.

I have been speculating that Zer0's adm is going to do something so outrageous that it will actually trigger some kind of "extraordinary" redress of grievances.

If Obamacare turns out to be as horrible as people predict, exempting govt workers and Congress from the program just may be the trigger.

...of all the talk about "two Americas" that have been thrown around in the last few years, govt's exemptions from Obamacare would absolutely create this...2 Americas....&...war..

I had the same question.

Turns out that if they retire, now, they get to keep lifetime subsidized health insurance.

Of course, the Fed Gov always keeps it promises to retirees, right?

So where do they think the “subsidized care” comes from? Won’t that be from the exchanges as well and we all know they will get crappier as time goes by for them. They can all just drop off the face of the earth for all I care. Take the Blue pill bastards

They are even more tenacious in keeping office than some of the Congressmen they work for.

I didn't know that was humanly possible.

Cordially,

"Congressional employees are a special class. Exempt from most rules that apply to civil service or most appointive offices, they form a permanent professional cadre, irrespective of the political affiliation of the legislator for whom they perform office and business duties. Almost uniformly, they are of liberal persuasion, and have more than a little influence what legislation actually gets acted upon. They filter the information that reaches the legislator, and they largely regulate the arrangements for meetings and constituent concerns."

Art imitates life...

Yes Minister is a British sitcom that a friend turned me on to. Bureaucracy is statism the world over...

The Prime Minister offers Hacker the position of Minister of Administrative Affairs, which he accepts. Hacker goes to his department and meets his Permanent Secretary, Sir Humphrey Appleby, and his Principal Private Secretary, Bernard Woolley. While Appleby is outwardly deferential towards the new minister, he is prepared to defend the status quo at all costs. Woolley is sympathetic towards Hacker but as Appleby reminds him, his civil servant superiors will have much to say about the course of his future career, while ministers do not usually stay long in one department. Many of the episodes revolve around proposals backed by Hacker but frustrated by Appleby, and others revolve around proposals promoted by the latter but rejected by Hacker, which Sir Humphrey attempts by all means necessary to persuade Hacker to accept. They do occasionally join forces in order to achieve a common goal, such as preventing the closure of their department or dealing with a diplomatic incident.

I have DVD’s of the complete “Yes, Minister” and “Yes, Prime Minister” series. They were Margaret Thatcher’s favorite show.

Just like the useful "civil servant" idiots in Detroit...

Well then, the solution is to make them take Obamacare after they quit. The rest of us have to.
