WASHINGTON — The Obama administration has concluded that Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime has used chemical weapons against the opposition seeking to overthrow him, U.S. officials said Thursday, crossing what President Barack Obama has called a ‘red line’ that would trigger greater American involvement in the crisis.

Maybe Assad used poison gas, maybe he didn't, but Obama saying he did adds nothing to the credibility of the charge and Obama is busy aiding the more radical terrorists who are fighting Assad. In a choice between two terrible alternatives, Obama will pick the worse, more anti-
American and the one who will kill the Christians. The US had no business being involved, but this will be another step in Obama’s drive to create the Greater Caliphate.

Of course they were Saddam’s! If Assad had them, then we can be positive Saddam would have had them, too. If Assad didn’t get them until Saddam was being overthrown, then there is nowhere else he could have gotten them. A full six months after it became perfectly obvious to just about everybody else that Assad was using chemical weapons, Obama comes to the conclusion that Assad was using chemical weapons.

For years, USA has supported dictators around the world because they determined they were a lot easier to deal with (or buy out) than Islamic democracies or theocracies.

The new philosophy seems to be to allow hardcore Islamists to take over.

There is another possibility: We shipped them from Benghazi through Turkey to set up a false flag operations carried out by the rebels in order to blame Assad. Assad has long known that the EU and the US has just been looking for the excuse of WMD use in order to intervene, so why would he give them the rationale on a sliver platter?

Syria has an advanced chemical and biological weapons program.
More than likely, the weapons were of Syrian design/manufacture, but “leftovers” from Saddam can’t be ruled out. Just ask James Clapper, who made that claim back in 2003

Well, so be it, chemical weapons not being new news. As Samantha Power would tell the President, 90,000 dead, who cares, unless they used chemical weapons. Iran and Hizbollah having a substantial presence in this hemisphere for a long time, I'm sure we're ready for any reprecussions. After all, we have their phone calls. Assad is winning, which I suspect is the real issue. At least McCain admits it. In view of our forthcoming escalation, wonder what the USSR, sorry Russia, new people now, does. Wouldn't take much to pay us back for Afghanistan. Give the good terrorists weapons (money) to fight the bad terrorists (not that long ago folk like Nancy Pelosi thought Assad was the good terrorit), OK. Military force, not my choice but we better be prepared to win on behalf of our Sunni allies. Wonder if the Saudis and Egypt will ever use the arms we sell them for something other than attacking Israel. Call up the Turks too, they've got overwhelming force to put Assad to bed, and a base of operations in Turkey. Don't need us, don't even need the Euros.
