Rubio: ‘I’m done’ if immigration bill includes gay couple amendment The Ticket By Chris Moody, Yahoo! News | The Ticket – 27 mins ago

Florida Republican Sen. Marco Rubio, a co-author and key proponent of the Senate immigration bill, said he will revoke his support if an amendment is added that allows gay unauthorized immigrants to claim foreign same-sex partners as family.

"If this bill has something in it that gives gay couples immigration rights and so forth, it kills the bill. I'm done," Rubio said Thursday during an interview on the Andrea Tantaros Show. "I'm off it, and I've said that repeatedly. I don't think that's going to happen and it shouldn't happen. This is already a difficult enough issue as it is."

The amendment, introduced by Vermont Democratic Sen. Patrick Leahy, would grant green cards to foreign partners of gay unauthorized immigrants who seek legal status under new rules in the bill. Leahy originally introduced the measure during the Senate Judiciary Committee markup of the bill, but he withdrew it under pressure from Republican lawmakers who said it would reduce the chance of the bill passing.

The effort underway in Congress to overhaul the nation's immigration system is a bipartisan one, and its success hinges on a fragile coalition of political, business and religious groups that span the ideological spectrum. Opponents of Leahy's amendment have said repeatedly that his proposal would cause some key groups to withdraw their support and kill the bill. Rubio's exit would be especially devastating to its survival.

The Senate is expected to vote on Leahy's amendment soon.

In the interview, Rubio also said that as the bill is currently written, it has "no chance" of passing.

F you Rubio, and the little pink unicorn you road in on.

You’re done! You won’t be elected dog-catcher after this.

I don’t understand why Marco McCain doesn’t want to support Gay Illegals. He’s been letting 7 Senators perform same sex
buggery on him for months now.

Rubio has one set of lies for Univision and another set of lies for Hannity.

What a puke.

I called Risch's office (Idaho Senator) to express my concern that only a NO vote is acceptable. There is no "sitting on the fence". It's a crap piece of legislation. Any talk of securing the border is crap too. It will be all lip service and no action. Meanwhile, we get steam rolled by 20 million illegals.

He's feeling the disapproval of this bill and is taking the easy way out.
It's politically expedient to CYA.

Now he can say he's against this amendment and say ? " see ? I'm one of you conservatives, I didn't vote for that shamisty bill " .....
No folks don't let him fool you he's taking the easy way out.

Undoubtedly the purpose of the NSA wire taps.

It’s not like they haven’t done this before: recall Hillary’s stolen FBI files she used.

From NRO:

“The Senate has rejected an amendment to the Gang of Eight bill calling for a “border security first” approach to immigration reform...The measure would have required the Department of Homeland Security to demonstarate effective security of the southern border for six months before illegal immigration are granted legal status...

The Republican members of the Gang of Eight — senators John McCain (Ariz.), Marco Rubio (Fla.), Jeff Flake (Ariz.), and Lindsey Graham (S.C.) – and Republican senator Lisa Murkowski of Alaska joined with the Democrats to block the amendment.”

Unhappily, BOTH of my senators (Arizona) are race-pandering buttwipes concerned with getting cheap labor for their yardwork...

I’m increasingly agreeing that the Democrats and Republicans are the left & right wing of the same bird of prey!

At this point I think he has iis fingers crossed, hoping he can weasel his way out of this thing.

He should've weaseled his was out of it as soon as Schummer and McCain started speaking for him. That being said, at this point if Rubio refuses to continue to support the pro-invasion bill and thus the bill fails, I'll be okay with him until his next screwup.

“Rubio: ‘I’m done’ if immigration bill includes gay couple amendment”

Sure, that’s what he says now. When it comes down to it, he’d vote FOR it by saying it was the only way to get what HE wants passed. ‘Wouldn’t trust him as far as I could throw him.

Marco would not made a good president. He’s too immature.

He needs to run as fast as he can and admit that he was wrong to please the GOP; just to save some creditability before the throwing pies begin to come. He just blew it; this was set up long ago for him and he was too dumb to see that. Line with Schumer’s bill, you pay the price. Become McCain’s tool, you’re done. McCain is poison like Rove is politically toxic. They will not listen to common sense that most of their supporters do want reforms done. It’s really bad when you see the so called leading republicans on a political suicide mission to destroy their own party. Is it intentional or just being that stupid? Obama’s sides’ parties on.

Right. Like he was “done” when they put legalization ahead of border control.

"I'm done" meaning I'm done spearheading this thing, but I'll still vote for it.

Frankly, it doesn't matter why this liar says or does now. He's already got the ball rolling.
