Bill Clinton: Obama May Look Like A “Wuss” Over Syria

In sharp remarks directed against his Democratic successor and his wife’s former boss, President Bill Clinton said Tuesday that President Barack Obama risks looking like a “wuss,” a “fool,” and “lame” for not doing more to influence events in Syria.

Clinton, speaking with Sen. John McCain Tuesday night in a closed press event sponsored by the McCain Institute, contrasted Obama’s inaction in Syria to his own action in the 1999 NATO intervention in Kosovo, which included the bombing of the forces of Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic. Clinton said a president must look beyond public and Congressional reluctance to military intervention for the sake of national security and to save lives.

“You just think how lame you’d be… suppose I had let a million people, two million people be refugees out of Kosovo, a couple hundred thousand people die, and they say, ‘You could have stopped this by dropping a few bombs. Why didn’t you do it?’ And I say, ‘because the House of Representatives voted 75% against it?’” Clinton said. “You look like a total wuss, and you would be.”

To who? John McCain? Yeah, all 1.5 people I know who even know anything about Syria are real concerned about it and just itching to get involved in a another pseduo war.

This has been looking like Kosovo for some time now. 75% of Congress is against it (not sure where Bill got that number, but let's roll with it) because...uh...because the country is?

I'm really not sure the doctrine of dropping bombs on people who don't like us on behalf of other people who don't like us and changing a country full of people who don't like us into another country full of people who don't like us, can be described in any sense as a rational foreign policy. The tail - 0bama's scandal poll numbers - is in every sense wagging the dog here. Watch it happen.

Your comment reminded me that Bill is not all too happy that Obama team are covering their own butts while leaving Hillary’s reputation hanging on Bengazi.

That may be the sudden change in Bill's attitude. It also tells me that maybe Hillary was the hawk in the administration who insisted on bombing Libya to begin with.
