Politico: Obama Oversaw 'Greatest Expansion of Electronic Surveillance in U.S. History'

Politico rips into Obama's cratering trust deficit today and makes a crucial admission that much of the media has been dancing around since the revelations hit last week about the NSA's seizing of phone records and the PRISM program. Politico describes Obama's moves as a "secret program that dragnets most phone records and much of the Internet."

The very same media that doesn't want to admit what Obama is doing is the very same media that spent years savaging President George W. Bush for doing much less. But to admit Their Precious One is Bush on steroids is probably a reality that is just too bleak to face.

This means that we will never see the media apologize to Bush, and we most certainly will never see the media push Obama to apologize to Bush.

I have to think that the intel community is about apoplectic this morning.

Obama’s defense of a program that HE ORDERED THEM TO EXECUTE has been tepid and half-hearted at best. It appears he has a moistened finger in the wind. If his lefty-libertarian techie supporters are sufficiently
incensed about this, they are all going under that bus.

And from the way the polls are moving on this, seems
more likely than not.

In my opinion, Just the tip of the iceberg. I would bet dollars to donuts that NSA data has already been used for political purposes by Obamadon to search and seize without warrant and selectively enforce copyright laws against enemies and in support of Hollywood donors. Are the the NUMEROUS web domain seizures still not prosecuted simply a coincidence? What about Kim Dotcom -does that ring a tyrannical bell?

Having grown up and served in the military during the cold war, it’s stomach turning to have more respect for Russia than I have for America.

I think that possibly none of this information was used to attack individuals, but was used as a sort of meta-data model to identify trends, concentrations of interest and opposition, etc. It had nothing to do with terrorism, of course, but was another part of Obama’s vast collection of information aimed at maintaining himself and his party in power. Obviously, he did have many ways of attacking individuals through use of government agencies, but I think the NSA project was primarily to identify currents of resistance and then break them out through other means.

However, one thing it does reveal is the vast manipulation, not only of data, but of our entire IT infrastructure. He has been trying to exert top-level control (over structure, domains, etc.) but he also realized the potential of good old hacking. For example, our local board of elections mysteriously found its data-base of county-approved GOP poll watchers and their assignments hopelessly corrupted 3 days before the election (not enough time to rebuild it). The only thing our local GOP officials could do at the last moment with the approval of the board of elections was to ask the approved poll-watchers to serve in their own precincts, which resulted in some places having several poll watchers and some, probably in the most sensitive areas, having none. A small but effective technique.

And I think that the local elections officers are quite honest, so the hacking of the database probably came from someplace outside of the local office.

And yet, no mention of the loss of the 4th. Strange that it too co-insides with the S.C. ruling that they can take DNA for merely being arrested.

Regardless of how it is used, the gov’t has no Right nor LEGAL authority. Never mind the fact they ‘cannot track’ nor deport illegal invaders, but instead hound We the People for a $.20 overdue book fee.

On a side note: Offering to bet “dollars to donuts” is no longer particularly meaningful since donuts now cost around a dollar a piece.
