BEAUPREZ: How the EPA connives with Greens on policy
Washington Times ^ | June 10, 2013 | Bob Beauprez

To paraphrase William Shakespeare, there’s something rotten in Washington, and the odor is emanating not just from the Internal Revenue Service and the Justice Department. It’s also coming from the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and other agencies accused of colluding with radical environmental groups to write regulations that are threatening the livelihoods of millions of Americans.

A U.S. Chamber of Commerce study has found that the EPA has given green groups a seat at the table when drafting environmental regulations, but it has excluded the people and industries most likely to be affected. The Sierra Club has participated in “closed-door deals” with the EPA 34 times since 2009; WildEarth Guardians has had the inside line on environmental policy 20 times, the EPA has struck nine deals with the Natural Resources Defense Council, six with the Center for Biological Diversity, and five with the Environmental Defense Fund.

How have these overtly political groups obtained such access to policy decisions that have the power to destroy industries and eliminate jobs? The answer lies in the “sue and settle” legal technique.

the settlements are “pre-arranged” by the agencies and the environmental groups. After the settlements are finalized — without a public comment period — the agencies can move forward with the actions coveted by the fascists environmental group and the communists.

The son of the spotted owl that killed logging and such is the sage grouse. The goal is to kill family farming , ranching, oil exploration, etc. on private property.

I think we need term limits immediately. We need to get rid of the whole damn bunch in DC and the state capitols who have been working on this One World Government idea for the last fifty years.

Bring in some people who will stay for two terms and then go and live in the environment they helped create.

The collusion between the EPA and these enviro-nazi groups is criminal, IMO.

The EPA should eliminated and begun anew. Their regulatory powers should be taken away and their numbers should be cut to about 10% of what they are today. The EPA did some good in the beginning but turned into regulatory monster out of control.

The sage grouse is definitely being used now as the spotted owl was originally by the enviro-nazis. If not stopped it's going to put millions of acres, both private and public land, off limits for use of most any kind, it'll make the spotted owl scam look small in comparison.

Monsanto will be happy to kill off the small private family farms.

The politicians will then enjoy further kickbacks from Monsanto.

I really don’t know but I’d guess the chances are slim to none, probably closer to none.

That’s not to say they shouldn’t be, they’ve cost us billions.

What is even more rotten is that the retirement funds managed by the public employee unions to which these bureaucrats belong are heavily invested in Sustainable Developments. It’s “green investing” you know. What’s even more rotten is that leftist politicians use those funds as leverage for stock manipulation.

Sure. Once that's under way, use them to go after the big fish, the owners of the tax-exempt foundations who donate to the green groups having a financial interest in the resulting regulations.
