Cyber-snooping backlash builds in Berlin before Obama's JFK trip

German outrage over a secret U.S. Internet spying program is building before a visit by Barack Obama next week, with senior members of Chancellor Angela Merkel's government demanding a full explanation from the president when he lands in Berlin.

Merkel's spokesman has said she will raise the issue with Obama in talks next Wednesday. That could cast a cloud over the visit, designed to celebrate U.S.-German ties on the 50th anniversary of a famous speech in which President John F. Kennedy declared: "Ich bin ein Berliner".

Minister Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger said reports the United States could access and track virtually all forms of Internet communication were "deeply disconcerting" and potentially "dangerous".

"The more a society monitors, controls and observes its citizens, the less free it is," she said.

This is a far cry from his 2008 campaign visit to Germany.

Remember when Hillary wanted to dig up dirt on the President of Argentina? Ya think the rest of the world’s leaders could have gotten a clue about the kind of people they are dealing with?

Maybe bozo should stay home. It would save money and be a lot less inconvenience to people.

Good. Perhaps the Germans will join the Russians in defending America. I certainly don’t trust Obama in that direction as much as I trust Putin or Merkel.

Nice pic, but it's worth retelling the story:

If you say "I am Danish", it means that you are from Denmark. If you say "I am a Danish", it means that you are a breakfast pastry called a Danish. In German the syntax is even more important. Adding the "ein" in front name of of a city or place, identifies the noted food from that city. In Berlin, it's a jelly doughnut.

Thus, Kennedy said to all the world: "I'm a jelly doughnut". Such a gaff, had it been uttered by someone like Reagan, would have identified him in perpetuity as an ignorant fool. When uttered by a Kennedy, it identifies him as a great statesman.

I can hear the Obamadork now (carefully reading his goon-O-promptor), “Build up this wall.”

The man is pure, unadulterated, highly filtered slime.

Slime.

Putrid slime.

The definition of putrescence.

No need to worry your pretty little head over this one, Merkel!

OUR Fuehrer and Chancellor of The Obamanation Reich B. Hussein Obama is an expert of finding THE APPROPIATE BALANCE.

Balance, balance, BALANCE! Well, except for Federal spending, of course.

Would do my heart good to see Barry facing a Big Leftist Protest in Berlin when he arrives.

Hopefully they put the Stasi victims at the front of the line.

JFK might have talked the talk but Ronald Reagan walk the walk and got the job done.
