Chad Johnson has been ordered to spend 30 days in jail for violating his probation.
But could he have avoided time behind bars altogether by simply keeping his hands to himself?
Multiple reports say the 35-year-old former NFLer ticked off Florida judge Kathleen McHugh Monday after slapping his male lawyer's butt during the hearing.
The slap was a huge factor in the decision to hand over 30-day sentence -- a period that would have much shorter, or non-existent, had he controlled himself, according to TMZ. In court, McHugh said Johnson wasn't taking things seriously enough, ESPN's story states.
Johnson is also looking at an additional 25 hours of community service, along with extra therapy sessions, as part of the penalty.
Johnson, formerly known as Chad Ochocinco, was originally in legal trouble because of a domestic violence case involving ex-wife and reality TV star Evelyn Lozada.
If he keeps it up, he will need to have six numbers in his manufactured name.
Wasn’t he dating one of the dancers from DWTS.
IIRC, he really threw himself at her hard. But for all his efforts, or maybe because of all his efforts, she never let him out of the friend zone.
Kind of vague... was he mad at this lawyer or was that a rowdy attaboy kind of move?

I think the title is misleading.
Somewhat misleading headline by the QMI Agency. “Slapping” makes it sound like it was violent and confrontational. While butt-tapping (which it was) is more of an “Attaboy!” team spirit thing.
Yeah, typical to sports players. It does not HAVE to be dirty minded, though someone with a dirty mind might want to do it for dirty reasons.

Yeah she did not date him, but he was trying. In an interview I read she mentioned being in an abusive relationship at one time. Maybe she saw the danger signs and that was why.

According to another article(not on FR)he was exuberant because his lawyer had gotten him a good plea bargain, but showing excitement over the ruling pissed the judge off.
Well it would be a breach of decorum, but why let that influence the main matter being judged... why not a separate contempt of court process for it. It does not sound right.
The reason he is in trouble to start with is because he head butted his ex. I would think she would be smart enough not to go back to the idiot. All the articles I have seen today call her his ex-wife.
