Folks with security clearances underwent VOLUNTARY interrogations and dossier building. I don’t recall having given permission for the state to keep my SIX year olds DNA forever. And you know they have dossiers on six year olds too. Look up the database to be kept as a part of Common Core.

If that stuff didn’t catch 90% of the government spies and bad guys and not likely they’ll catch ones that don’t work for the government, why do they need it?

Hmmm?

Perhaps because the stated ‘anti terrorist’ reason isn’t the REAL reason. Control of the population is the real reason. Political uses >>>> security uses with this kind of database. And the cool thing is you can hold people hostage to stuff their relatives have done. After all, do you really want your 19yr old to do hard time for the half kilo of weed he bought last weekend?

BTW, they’re taping bus conversations now too. To be stored indefinitely.

Inferential population control is more expensive than just busting heads.

Regarding keeping your DNA, the test for identification is not a full blown genome review and analysis. We don't have that capability yet ~ and what we do have is very expensive.

They're not going to create a clone out of you with what they get on the swab.

BTW, human beings shed DNA constantly. Within a couple of years they won't need to bother 'taking a DNA sample' ~ they'll simply snap a strand out of the air.

So the war on terror was over, we were told, but Prism was merely an instrument in the fight against terrorism and terrorist plots had been foiled because of it.

They’re keeping the DNA samples themselves. Not just that stuff they’ve analyzed. The sample itself.

Why keep that indefinitely?

BTW, the given excuse is ‘just in case we need to retest something’. Yea, because they can never get a new sample for that. Right?

While they might not be able to clone now. YOu have no idea what tech they’ll have in 20 years. And they’ll still have my kids dna for that. And every child born in the ensuing 20 years. And the legal and political ramifications of the current (and future!) band of corrupt politicians having access to that data.

Snowden lied again ~ he took an oath, but he lied. he voted for Obama, and he lied about that, and he probably voted for Obama again!

How on Earth do you know who he voted for?

so? We are, most of us who aren't space aliens, near clones of each other. A few million base pair differences is all it takes but they can put together a pretty good clone ~ assuming the technology develops to do that, and there's a need for it ~ out of one guy by using DNA from a different guy!

Last thing I'm going to be worried about is a clone army using my DNA! Maybe for invading Russia in winter from the North, but why?

He’s a known liar. It’s fair to impute anything and everything to him now.

Calling someone a liar doesn’t make it so... that silly tactic may work for tiny liberal minds, but not for most of us. Nice try anyway.

So why keep the sample?

If they can just get another one? And that one isn’t particularly unique to begin with.

You don’t know what this information will be used for in 20 years.

They’ve been doing this for long enough to get roughly 40 MILLION babies DNA so far. That’s a lot of storage for something that’s not terribly unique or anything.

Julian Assange and Bradly Manning are heroes to the left.

Snowden, not so much.

Libs want to fight the war here, while Conservatives want to fight the war there.

That "she" has no facts and so is now making an unreasoned attack on me.

Where have I experienced that before?

The man took an oath ~ a serious oath ~ and he broke it and now he's bragging about it and, in effect, claiming moral superiority over those of us who respect oaths.

He is a liar, and it's not just me saying that he is. He says it himself.
