Yes, you are most likely right, one must check the spell checker. The librarian I know is a conservative Christian. While I know that the stereo type librarian of an being obsessed with rules is not very libertarian.

I meet a lady from Liberia who came here to attend college. Since her name was hard to pronounce for many we called her Libby. If she studied librarian sciences, and she was a Libertarian, she would be a Libertarian Liberia Librarian.

If the Beatles were still around I am sure the would write a song about her.

Lovely Libby the Libertarian Liberia Librarian.

But back to my thoughts on putting congress in a barrack. I didn’t think of that word last and used dorm instead .

As a child I was taught phonics it was a few years later they discovered I could not hear phonetically.

You might know this why is librarian sciences plural.

You don’t need them—might as well go back to red coats. They didn’t work and served to target our people.

Thomas,

My wife has long said that Congress Critters ought to be made to live in either barracks or enlisted grade military housing, so that they would know what great benefits they were giving the military. That was especially true living in 1950s built housing in the mid-80s.

I preferred the open bay wooden barracks, and felt that the conversion to “rooms” and concrete, was a mistake.

The purpose of a camouflage uniform is to help conceal the service member wearing it.

Now you have the Navy with two tone blue tiger stripes , the USAF has a two tone grey tiger stripe ,the Marine Corp has a digital green & digital brown fatigue uniform that actually works & the Army is just recently decided that Multicam which was picked by the folks in the field instead of the dorks at Natick who burdened the G.I.’s with the digital grey uniforms that didn’t fit in anywhere .

One standard set of camouflage patterns that work in the field saves time & money from the procurement side of the problem.

Camouflage was first introduced by the Italians in WW2. Makes sense for the Italians. They were always about hiding. And surrendering.

>>Can someone please ‘splain why Navy personnel on a ship are wearing como??

To make “man overboard” more likely to be fatal?

The whole idea of blue camo is so dumb it is just mind-boggling. Everyone involved in green-lighting that nonsense should be booted out.

This is your solution to government waste, to defend government waste?
*******
I’m not defending waste, but rather recognizing that uniforms are but a miniscule expense in the big scheme of things. A few million is just background noise; we need to focus on the BILLIONS that are wasted every day on ridiculous government programs. We’ve got to get serious about cutting the real fat.

But you are defending government waste, in the same fashion that it is always defended, in this case by protesting a discussion of saving in excess of a 100 million (the Army estimates 82m for itself), by arguing that it is too "miniscule" to be discussing or concerned about.

Not only is this discussion relevant in terms of 'a 100 million here, a 100 million there', it is related to national defense and military readiness and the decay of the warrior culture.

If you always focus on the little stuff, you’ll never solve the big problem.

Are you deliberately being silly?

That is your waste saving advice input to this thread, shut it down and shut up, and only discuss things that Starboard wants to talk about?

I’m pretty sure unified camo-patterns across the armed forces isn’t that out of the ordinary - the old Woodland BDUs were used by all services back in the ‘80s.

Easily the American Civil War ie Berdan’s sharpshooters wore Green Uniforms specifically to blend into natural cover & foliage. Also the Scottish gamekeepers “Ghilli” suit used by British army Snipers in WW1.

On a thread on government waste, your input is to let it go, ignore the waste.

That is just weird.
